چکیده

One of the most exciting avenues of translational research today is determining how to program ab T cells of the immune system to treat diseases such as cancer. The main function of T cells is the surveillance of unhealthy cells throughout the body. Because of their specificity, function, and lasting memory, T cells can contribute to the prevention and treatment of many diseases. Two approaches that are being explored to improve T cell responses using different vaccine methods are adoptive cell therapies, in which T cells are expanded and possibly manipulated ex vivo and then reintroduced into the patients [1], and stimulation of the endogenous T cell repertoire [2]. Both hold promise for antigen-specific treatments of diseases.

Safety Considerations on MRI Systems for Firefighters and Paramedics

Background and Objectives: The use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems is on the rise and the number of installed systems is constantly increasing all over the world. This raises the possibility for emergency personnel to get in contact with these systems. However, the clothing and working material of paramedics and firefighters is not designed for the use on magnets. M...

استفاده از مدل جاذبه برای استخراج انحنای مرز دریاچه سد

Introduction The attraction model algorithm spatially depends on the neighborhoods of the central pixels that are attracting surrounding sub-pixels. Another possibility is the hypothesis of subpixel interaction as introduced by Mertens et al. (2003) and Atkinson (2005). In order to reach a pixel state with the maximum number of sub-pixels of identical classes neighboring, there are several met...

Mitigating the Goldilocks effect: the effects of different substrate models on track formation potential

In ichnology, the Goldilocks effect describes a scenario in which a substrate must be 'just right' in order for tracks to form-too soft, the animal will be unable to traverse the area, and too firm, the substrate will not deform. Any given substrate can therefore only preserve a range of tracks from those animals which exert an underfoot pressure at approximately the yield strength of the sedim...

Design of a Novel Recombinant Multi-Epitope Vaccine against Triple-Negative Breast Cancer

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is determined by the absence of ERBB2, estrogen and progesterone receptors’ expression. Cancer vaccines, as the novel immunotherapy strategies, have emerged as promising tools   for treating the advanced stage of TNBC. The aim of this study was to evaluate Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), Metadherin (MTDH), and Mucin 1 (MUC-1) proteins as vaccine ...

Developing an analytical model for the formation of a design scenario in research-based design processes in architecture

Although many attempts have been made in presenting systematic models for design processes, most projects have been implemented by non-systematic methods, which seems that too much emphasis on the description of the final project (product) and the lack of attention to the design process are to be blamed for this. In this paper, a specific pattern of design scenario formation in the framework of...
