چکیده
Negative-ion electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry with an anionic phosphine ligand enables detection of key intermediates in the Sonogashira reaction. MS/MS techniques are used to generate a Hammett plot for the key reductive elimination step.

Characterisation of intact microorganisms using electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry
We report the first application of electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) for the reproducible characterisation of strains of intact Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Electrospray ionisation was performed in both the positive and negative ion modes and the spectra obtained from Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus were very information rich. Several of the observed negative ...
متن کاملMechanistic analysis of an asymmetric palladium-catalyzed conjugate addition of arylboronic acids to β-substituted cyclic enones
An asymmetric palladium-catalyzed conjugate addition reaction of arylboronic acids to enone substrates was investigated mechanistically. Desorption electrospray ionization coupled to mass spectrometry was used to identify intermediates of the catalytic cycle and delineate differences in substrate reactivity. Our findings provide evidence for the catalytic cycle proceeding through formation of a...
متن کاملDirect analysis of catalysts immobilised in ionic liquids using electrospray ionisation ion trap mass spectrometry.
Catalysts immobilised in ionic liquids have been analysed using electrospray ionisation ion trap mass spectrometry, which allows identification of the catalyst without contamination from the ionic liquid; additionally, a new ionic liquid containing the Monsanto catalyst as the anionic component, [Rh(CO)2I2]-, has been characterised using the same method.
متن کاملLiquid Chromatography− and Capillary Electrophoresis−Mass Spectrometry in Glucuronide Analysis by
Phase II metabolites, or conjugates, are highly polar, non-volatile and thermolabile compounds that need to be analysed in biological matrices such as urine, bile and plasma. Liquid chromatography (LC) and capillary electrophoresis (CE) are proven techniques for the analysis of compounds of this kind, but the standard detectors in LC and CE lack sensitivity and especially specificity. Coupling ...
متن کاملIonic liquids enable electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry in hexane.
Addition of a lipophilic ionic liquid to non-polar, hydrocarbon solvents (such as hexane and toluene) permits electrospray ionisation mass spectrometric analysis of dissolved analytes.
