چکیده

This paper presents a comparable evaluation of R600a (isobutane), R290 (propane), R134a, R22, R410A, and R32 in an optimized finned-tube evaporator, and analyzes the impact of evaporator effects on the system coefficient of performance (COP). The study relied on a detailed evaporator model derived from NIST’s EVAP-COND simulation package and used the ISHED1 scheme employing a non-Darwinian learnable evolution model for circuitry optimization. In the process, 4500 circuitry designs were generated and evaluated for each refrigerant. The obtained evaporator optimization results were incorporated in a conventional analysis of the vapor compression cycle. For a theoretical cycle analysis without accounting for evaporator effects, the COP spread for the studied refrigerants was as high as 11.7%. For cycle simulations including evaporator effects, the COP of R290 was better than that of R22 by up to 3.5%, while the remaining refrigerants performed approximately within a 2% COP band of the R22 baseline for the two condensing temperatures considered. q 2005 Elsevier Ltd and IIR. An Optimized Design of Finned-Tube Evaporators Using the Learnable Evolution Model

Optimizing the refrigerant circuitry for a finned-tube evaporator is a daunting task for traditional exhaustive search techniques due to the extremely large number of circuitry possibilities. For this reason, more intelligent search techniques are needed. This paper presents and evaluates a novel optimization system, called ISHED1 (Intelligent System for Heat Exchanger Design). This system uses...

Optimization of Finned-Tube Heat Exchanger with Minimizing the Entropy Production rate

A compact fin-tube heat exchanger is used to transfer current fluid heat inside the tubes into the air outside. In this study, entropy production and optimized Reynolds number for finned-tube heat exchangers based on the minimum entropy production have been investigated. As a result, the total entropy of compact heat exchangers, which is the summation of the production rate of fluid entropy ins...

بررسی تأثیر دما و طول اواپراتور و تعداد خم‌‌های لوله حرارتی ضربانی در عملکرد آن

In this study an analytical model for open loop pulsating heat pipes (PHPs) is presented. The model predicts the effect of different parameters such as evaporator temperature, length of evaporator, filling ratio, number of turn and tube diameter on PHP's performance. The governing equations in two phase flow including mass, momentum and energy equations are solved for both one dimensional liqu...

Experimental investigation of thermal and electrical performances of a nanofluid-cooled photovoltaic/thermal system equipped with a sheet-and-grooved serpentine tube collector

Introduction: In the present experimental investigation, the thermal and electrical performances of a photovoltaic/thermal system equipped with a sheet-and-grooved serpentine tube collector are investigated. The water-magnetite nanofluid is used as the heat transfer fluid. The effect of nanoparticle volume concentration (0-1%), nanofluid mass flow rate (10-40 kg/h) and groove pitch (0, 0.54 an...

Effect of Coil Geometry on Frost-Free Finned-Tube Evaporator Performance

This paper outlines a mathematical modelling approach to predict the steady-state behaviour of finned-coil evaporators. The model was built taking three domains into account: (i) refrigerant flow inside the coil; (ii) heat transfer through the walls; and (iii) air flow through the finned-coil array. The equations were obtained from the mass, momentum and energy conservation principles, mathemat...
