Impact of the Recent Jefferson Lab Data on the Structure of the Nucleon

چکیده
The simultaneous fit of proton ratio μpGEp/GMp, qF2p/F1p to the recent experimental data and static properties of the nucleon is studied within a light-front model with different spin coupling schemes and wave functions. The position of the zero of proton electric form factor is sensitive to the presence of a hard constituent quark component in the nucleon wave function. The fitting of the new data for the ratios is achieved with a hard momentum scale about 4-5 GeV.

The N * Physics Program at Jefferson Lab
Recent measurements of nucleon resonance transition form factors with CLAS at Jefferson Lab are discussed. The new data confirm the assertion of the symmetric constituent quark model of the Roper as the first radial excitation of the nucleon. The data on high Q nπ production better constrain the branching ratios βNπ and βNη for the S11(1535). For the first time, the longitudinal transition ampl...
متن کاملQcd and the Structure of the Nucleon in Electron Scattering A
The internal structure of the nucleon is discussed within the context of QCD. Recent progress in understanding the distribution of flavor and spin in the nu-cleon is reviewed, and prospects for extending our knowledge of nucleon structure in electron scattering experiments at modern facilities such as Jefferson Lab are outlined.
متن کاملNeutron Transversity at Jefferson Lab
Nucleon transversity and single transverse spin asymmetries have been the recent focus of large efforts by both theorists and experimentalists. On-going and planned experiments from HERMES, COMPASS and RHIC are mostly on the proton or the deuteron. Presented here is a planned measurement of the neutron transversity and single target spin asymmetries at Jefferson Lab in Hall A using a transverse...

Hard exclusive leptoproductions of real photons, lepton pairs and mesons are the most promising tools to unravel the three-dimensional picture of the nucleon, which cannot be deduced from conventional inclusive processes like deeply inelastic scattering. Brief summary of talks given at 17th Summer School HUGS@CEBAF (Jefferson Lab, June 2002) Workshop “Exclusive processes at high momentum transf...
متن کاملRecent Results from Jefferson Lab
Recent results on studies of the structure of nucleons and nuclei in the regime of strong interaction QCD are discussed. Use of high current polarized electron beams, polarized targets, and recoil polarimeters, in conjunction with modern spectrometers and detector instrumentation allow much more detailed studies of nucleon and nuclear structure than has been possible in the past. The CEBAF acce...
