چکیده
A 19-year-old man with a history of recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) due to Escherichia coli, chronic urinary obstructive symptoms, and incomplete bladder emptying since childhood presented to Sina Hospital. The patient did not mention any history of the urethral trauma, instrumentation, or surgical intervention. Physical examination revealed a massive bladder distention up to the umbilicus. Examination of the external genitalia was unremarkable. Serum creatinine level was 1.3 mg/dL and other biochemistry results were within the reference ranges.

Anterior Urethral Valve and Diverticulum in a Neonate with Urinary Tract Infection
Introduction:Anterior urethral valve (AUV) is a rare congenital anomaly that can cause obstructive uropathy. AUV can lead to variable urinary tract symptoms, and if left untreated, it can result in end-stage renal disease. AUV should be immediately evaluated and managed. Herein, we present a neonate with AUV and diverticulum, who was treated by cystoscopy. Case report:A 11-day-old boy was ref...
متن کاملUnusual Giant Prostatic Urethral Calculus
Giant vesico-prostatic urethral calculus is uncommon. Urethral stones rarely form primarily in the urethra, and they are usually associated with urethral strictures, posterior urethral valve or diverticula. We report a case of a 32-year-old man with giant vesico-prostatic (collar-stud) urethral stone presenting with sepsis and bladder outlet obstruction. The clinical presentation, management, a...
متن کاملPosterior Urethral Valves with Severe Unilateral Vesicoureteral Reflux in a 3-year–old Boy
In patients with posterior urethral valves (PUV), severe unilateral vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is one of the three conditions associated with preservation of renal function. Others are urinary ascites or urinoma in newborns and large congenital bladder diverticula. These conditions most likely provide a pop-off mechanism preventing the development of high intravesical pressure. Only 5% of pati...
متن کاملAnterior Urethral Valves: Not Such a Benign Condition…
PURPOSE Anterior urethral valves (AUVs) is an unusual cause of congenital obstruction of the male urethra, being 15-30 times less common than posterior urethral valves (PUVs). It has been suggested that patients with congenital anterior urethral obstruction have a better prognosis than those with PUV, with less hydronephrosis, and a lower incidence of chronic renal insufficiency (5 vs. 30%). Th...
