چکیده

The layout problem for trees with weighted edges is motivated by the design of very large scale integrated circuits. Some of the nodes are xed and the object is to position the remainder so that the total weighted edge cost is minimized. The cost of each edge is the product of its weight and its length under some appropriate norm. Optimization for planar layouts is shown to be NP-hard. If crossings are permitted, then optimal layouts under the L 1 norm can be eeciently computed. Suitable algorithms and data structures are presented, and explicit exact cost functions are given for two classes of weighted complete binary trees.

Two optimal algorithms for finding bi-directional shortest path design problem in a block layout

In this paper, Shortest Path Design Problem (SPDP) in which the path is incident to all cells is considered. The bi-directional path is one of the known types of configuration of networks for Automated Guided Vehi-cles (AGV).To solve this problem, two algorithms are developed. For each algorithm an Integer Linear Pro-gramming (ILP) is determined. The objective functions of both algorithms are t...

Weighted Optimal Path in Graph with Multiple Indexes

This paper represents a technique for finding optimal paths with multiple indexes in a graph. Up to the present time, all optimal paths have been determined upon one index, say, distance for which an evaluation method exists. In this paper firstly we define multiple indexes for each edge in such a way that anyone can treat the factor for assigning an optimal path. Here, we use Data Envelopment ...

Optimal Phase Con ict Removal for Layout of Dark Field Alternating Phase Shifting Masks

We describe new, e cient algorithms for layout modi cation and phase assignment for dark eld alternating-type phase-shifting masks in the single-exposure regime. We make the following contributions. First, we suggest new 2-coloring and compaction approach that simultaneously optimizes layout and phase assignment which is based on planar embedding of an associated con ict graph. We also describe...

Node-Ring Graph Visualization Clears Edge Congestion

The most common graph visualization techniques still use nodelink layouts; where the nodes represent the entities and the links represent the edges or relationships between the entities. In nodelink layouts, the issues of edge density, edge crossings and general edge congestion remain one of the major challenges. In this paper, we introduce a new graph layout: Node-Ring layout. Our layout was i...

Towards a Vertex and Edge Label Aware Force Directed Layout Algorithm

Many automatic graph layout algorithms can cause shaped vertices and edge labels (which have a size when drawn on the screen) to overlap in the resulting visualisation. Overlaps can hide information that users expect to see in cases where the graph is small. We perform two experiments on a large real-world set of small (10-110 vertex) graphs to compare how different combinations of forces in Ea...
