چکیده

This paper addresses the problem of detecting mirror symportion to be analyzed needs to be segmented and to inmetries of 3D shapes. Unlike previous methods, which involve clude the overall 2D shape. Moment analysis cannot thereoverall 3D shape data, our method uses a range image obtained fore be applied to locally symmetric shapes or incomplete from one viewpoint. Also, the proposed method can be applied data such as occluded shapes. On the other hand, while to detection of local as well as global symmetries. First, initial estimates of symmetric plane metry and handling incomplete data, pointwise local symcandidates are obtained using the Hough transform. As local metry detection is often sensitive to noise. fragments aggregated by the Hough transform, we use the local In order to identify 3D symmetry, a method based on symmetry points determined by point pairs between occluding moment analysis has been proposed for detecting various contour points and surface points. Next, the iteratively reweighted least-squares method is applied in order to perform global symmetries from octree data [7]. This method, hownonmaximum suppression and refinement of the parameter ever, suffers from the same problems as 2D moment-based values. The method is further extended so as to extract curved methods. For example, symmetry detection is impossible as well as planar symmetries. Two kinds of extensions are using a range image from one viewpoint, such as is obtained proposed—fitting a quadratic function instead of fitting a using a typical range scanner [8]. A 3D shape description plane, and extracting smoothed local surface symmetries, which scheme based on local symmetry analysis also has been represent a 3D extension of smoothed local symmetries. A New Approach for Quantitative Evaluation of Reconstruction Algorithms in SPECT

ABTRACT Background: In nuclear medicine, phantoms are mainly used to evaluate the overall performance of the imaging systems and practically there is no phantom exclusively designed for the evaluation of the software performance.  In this study the Hoffman brain phantom was used for quantitative evaluation of reconstruction techniques. The phantom is modified to acquire t...

Segmentation of Cross - Sectional Images Using Fuzzy Logic

In this paper, we present a new segmentation method for range images consisting of a set of planar cross-sectional contours. Our approach is novel in that it uses fuzzy criteria for grouping primitives and identifying homogeneous regions. We have tried our method with images provided by a structured light sensor. In this case, the image sequence corresponds to the scene profiles obtained with t...

Curved planar reformation of CT spine images

Traditional techniques for visualizing anatomical structures are based on planar sections from volume images, like images obtained by computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, planar slices taken in the coordinate system of the 3D image often do not provide sufficient or qualitative enough diagnostic information. The reason is that because planar slices do not follo...

Reconstructing Three-dimensional Specific Curve Building Models from a Single Perspective View Image

This paper presents a systematic approach to reconstruct 3D models of complex buildings with specific curve structures from single perspective view images. The proposed method begins with the automatic extraction of straight feature lines and corner points. Three mutually orthogonal vanishing points are then calculated automatically and robustly for reconstructing three-dimensional regular (pla...

Resonant magnetoelastic microstructures for wireless actuation of liquid flow on 3D surfaces and use in glaucoma drainage implants

Magnetoelastic resonators made from metal alloy foils are widely used for miniature wireless anti-theft tags and have also been explored for use in various sensing applications. Through annealing within three-dimensional (3D) molds, these foils can be formed into curved structures. Consequently, magnetoelastic materials present an opportunity for the development of a new class of wireless, actu...
