Comparing Usage Patterns of Domain Experts and Novices in Visual Analytical Tasks

چکیده

Our research focuses on the use of visual analysis tools. In this paper, we examine the differences between expert and novice financial analysts using a visual analytics tool. Our formal study involving 10 experts and 10 novices indicates there are significant differences in usage patterns between the two groups that potentially impact the design of tools to aid in analysis and sensemaking.
