Transretinal pigment migration: an optical coherence tomographic study.

چکیده
as noted by organization of the vitreous overlying the optic nerve presumedly resulted in macular detachment and visual loss. Plasminassisted vitrectomy was successful in reestablishing the patient’s normal macular anatomy and restoring her baseline visual acuity. When present and confirmed by careful clinical examination, including adjunct methods such as optical coherence tomography, subclinical tractional retinal detachment in patients with adult retinopathy of prematurity with otherwise unexplained visual loss can be successfully treated by vitrectomy. The results from using optical coherence tomography in our case explain a circumstance that for many years had been observed yet was inadequately understood by physicians managing adult patients with retinopathy of prematurity.

متن کاملOptical coherence tomography in presumed subretinal Toxocara granuloma: case report.
Our aim was to study optical coherence tomographic findings in a case of Toxocara granuloma. A patient with a cicatricial macular lesion, diagnosed as ocular toxocariasis, was examined with optical coherence tomography. In optical coherence tomography images, the macular granuloma appeared as a highly reflective round mass protruding above the retinal pigment epithelium with two other surroundi...
متن کاملRetinal pigment epithelium tears secondary to age-related macular degeneration: a simultaneous confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography study.
OBJECTIVE To describe the morphology of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) tears secondary to age-related macular degeneration by using high-resolution, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). METHODS For simultaneous topographic and tomographic in vivo imaging, confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography were applied in combination. Re...
متن کاملThree-dimensional tomographic features of dome-shaped macula by swept-source optical coherence tomography.
PURPOSE To study the tomographic and pathomorphologic features of dome-shaped maculas with swept-source optical coherence tomography (OCT). DESIGN Prospective, cross-sectional study. METHODS The macular area of 51 highly myopic eyes (35 patients) with dome-shaped maculas was studied with swept-source OCT at 1050 nm. Three-dimensional (3-D) data sets were obtained with raster scanning coveri...
متن کاملDocumentation of intraretinal retinal pigment epithelium migration via high-speed ultrahigh-resolution optical coherence tomography.
PURPOSE To describe the features of intraretinal retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) migration documented on a prototype spectral-domain, high-speed, ultrahigh-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) device in a group of patients with early to intermediate dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and to correlate intraretinal RPE migration on OCT to RPE pigment clumping on fundus photograp...
