Reversible Data Hiding Scheme Based on Maximum Histogram Gap of Image Blocks
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper a reversible data hiding scheme based on shifting the histogram of host image blocks is presented. This method attempts to use full available capacity for data embedding by dividing the image into non-overlapping blocks. Applying histogram shifting to each block requires that extra information to be saved as overhead data for each block. This extra information (overhead or bookkeeping information) are used in order to extract payload and recover the block to its original state. A method to eliminate the need for this extra information in this paper is presented. This method uses maximum gap that exists between histogram bins for finding the value of pixels that was used for embedding in sender side. Experimental results show that while this method has higher embedding capacity than the original histogram method and their improved schemes, it maintains the quality of watermark image at an acceptable level.

Reversible Image Hiding for High Image Quality Based on Histogram Shifting and Local Complexity
Reversible data hiding is a technique that can restore the original cover image without any distortion after the embedded secret message is extracted. In this paper, a novel reversible data hiding method is proposed in the spatial domain. The proposed scheme is based on a local complexity function to classify a cover image block into the smooth blocks or complex blocks to increase embedding cap...
متن کاملA Novel Reversible Data Hiding Based on the Prediction Error Image
Reversible data hiding has drawn a lot of interest recently. Being reversible, the original image can be completely restored without distortion. In this paper, a novel reversible data hiding scheme is proposed, which is based on histogram shifting of prediction errors. The JPEGLS prediction method is employed. We apply the peak point of a histogram in a prediction error (PE) image to generate a...

This paper is working towards a high capacity histogram-based reversible data hiding algorithm with a relatively lower distortion introduced after embedding the secret message. The proposed algorithm can be thought of as an improved version of the traditional histogram shifting method. To take advantage of simple local distribution of pixel intensities, the idea behind the proposed algorithm is...
متن کاملReversible Data Hiding Based on Median Difference Histogram
This work proposes a reversible data hiding algorithm that is based on the median difference histogram. The method divides the cover image into non-overlapping identical blocks. In each block, the median pixel is selected to calculate absolute differences between the median pixel value and the values of the other pixels. Then, these differences are used to generate a histogram and the histogram...
متن کاملReversible image hiding scheme using predictive coding and histogram shifting
In this paper, a reversible image hiding scheme based on histogram shifting for medical images is proposed. As we know, the histogram-based reversible data hiding is limited by the hiding capacity, which is influenced by the overhead of position information that has to be embedded in the host image. To solve this problem, the similarity of neighboring pixels in the images was explored by using ...
