چکیده

An automated surveillance system should have the ability to recognize human behaviour and to warn security personnel of any impending suspicious activity. Human posture is one of the key aspects of analyzing human behaviour. We investigated three clustering techniques to recognize human posture. The system is first trained to recognize a pair of posture and this is repeated for three pairs of human posture. Finally the system is trained to recognize five postures together. The clustering techniques used for the purpose of our investigation included K-Means, fuzzy C-Means and Self-Organizing Maps. The results showed that K-Means and Fuzzy C-Means performed well for the three pair of posture data. However these clustering techniques gave low accuracy when we scale up the dataset to five different postures. SelfOrganizing Maps produce better recognition accuracy when tested for five postures. Key-Words: Surveillance systems, posture recognition, Clustering, K-Means, fuzzy C-Means, SelfOrganizing Maps

Comparison of SGA and RGA based Clustering Algorithm for Pattern Recognition

-In this paper Genetic Algorithm based clustering Algorithm has been studied for pattern recognition. The searching capability of genetic algorithms is exploited in order to search for appropriate/optimal cluster as well as cluster’s center in the feature space such that inter-cluster distance (Homogeneity) and intra-cluster distances (Separation) are optimized. We use H-S ratio for computation...

A fuzzy self-organizing map algorithm for biological pattern recognition

Data clustering is a key task for various processes including sequence analysis and pattern recognition. This paper studies a clustering algorithm that aimed to increase accuracy and sensitivity when working with biological data such as DNA sequences. The new algorithm is a modified version of fuzzy C-means (FCM) and is based on the well-known self-organizing map (SOM). In order to show the per...

Profiling Network Applications with Fuzzy C-Means Clustering and Self-Organizing Map

This paper introduces two clustering methods to be used in the analysis of network traffic. The methods are the self-organizing map (SOM) and the fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM) algorithm. First the basic theory of both methods is presented. Before the clustering process, a comprehensive data preprocessing is performed. Methods are used to produce application profiles and clusters from network t...
