Impact of Chemathoate Nutritional Index of Freshwater Fish, Cyprinus Carpio
نویسنده
چکیده
The freshwater fish, Cyprinus carpio, exposed to acute exposure period (Lethal concentration for 96 hours = 4.369 ppm) and 1⁄2 and 1/4 th sub lethal concentrations (2.185 and 1.092 ppm) of chemathoate for 30 days. The protein content various tissues of fish was observed after exposure period. Acute exposure caused a significant decrease the protein content in testis, ovary and brain and insignificant decrease in intestine, muscles, liver and gills, whereas increased protein level was observed in kidney. The two sub lethal concentrations are caused to decrease of protein content in ovary, brain, intestine, muscles, gills and liver for over 30 days exposure period, whereas protein level in testis of fish was increased to 1/4 th concentration of LC50 and decrease of protein content was noticed at 1⁄2 LC50 concentration of chemathoate.

Study and determination of fatty acid composition of some commercially important freshwater fish
Fatty acid composition of fish is one of the key factors for the evaluation of fish nutritional value and it could be different based on fish species, habitat, nutrition and etc. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the fatty acid composition of five commercially important freshwater fish from the fish market. Studied fish were as follows: Barbell, Luciobarbus pectoralis (Heckel, 1843),...
متن کاملEconomic Gain versus Ecological Damage from the Introduction of Non-native Freshwater Fish: Case Studies from Kenya
Non-native freshwater fish species that have been introduced to the inland waters of Kenya are listed and the consequences of stocking such fish are reviewed. Original species composition and lake ecosystem function can be detrimentally affected but, also, the introduction of non-native species can result in significant economic benefit. In the context of impact on recipient fish communities an...
متن کاملFirst isolation of Shewanella putrefaciens from freshwater fish – a potential new pathogen of fish
Bacterial isolates from common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were identified by the API 20E system (bioMérieux). Twenty one isolates were identified as Shewanella putrefaciens. These isolates were tested for selected biochemical and cultural characteristics. Pathogenicity of two isolates (Pt38 and K116) for freshwater fish was assayed. Biochemical characteris...
متن کاملInfluence of Cypermethrin on DNA and RNA Content in Different Organs of Fresh Water Fish Cyprinus carpio
In this study, freshwater fish Cyprinus carpio was exposed to sub lethal concentration of synthetic pyrethroids insecticide cypermethrin to evaluate the impact on nucleic acids in different organs. Fishes were exposed to sub lethal concentration (1/10th of LC50 value) of cypermethrin for three different durations, 7, 14 and 21 days. In seven day exposed fishes, DN...
متن کاملDetermination of some heavy metal levels in three freshwater fish in Keban Dam Lake (Turkey) for public consumption
The accumulation of iron, zinc, copper and cobalt in the muscles of three freshwater fish (Cyprinus carpio, Squalius cephalus and Capoeta umbla) from Keban Dam Lake (Turkey) were investigated between September 2009 and April 2010. The concentration of heavy metals were found as Zn>Fe>Cu>Cd respectively. A positive relationship was found between heavy metal levels and fish size. The levels of al...
