Quantum waveguide transport in serial stub and loop structures.

چکیده
We have studied the quantum transmission properties of serial stub and loop structures. Throughout we have considered free electron networks and the scattering arises solely due to the geometric nature of the problem. The band formation in these geometric structures is analyzed and compared with the conventional periodic potential scatterers. Some essential differences are pointed out. We show that a single defect in an otherwise periodic structure modifies band properties non trivially. By a proper choice of a single defect one can produce positive energy bound states in continuum in the sense of von Neumann and Wigner. We also discuss some magnetic properties of loop structures in the presence of Aharonov-Bohm e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected]

Design of a new asymmetric waveguide in InP-Based multi-quantum well laser
Today, electron leakage in InP-based separate confinement laser diode has a serious effect on device performance. Control of electron leakage current is the aim of many studies in semiconductor laser industry. In this study, for the first time, a new asymmetric waveguide structure with n-interlayer for a 1.325 μm InP-based laser diode with InGaAsP multi-quantum well is proposed and theoreticall...

متن کاملCoherent Transport of Single Photon in a Quantum Super-cavity with Mirrors Composed of Λ-Type Three-level Atomic Ensembles
In this paper, we study the coherent transport of single photon in a coupled resonator waveguide (CRW) where two threelevel Λ-type atomic ensembles are embedded in two separate cavities. We show that it is possible to control the photon transmission and reflection coefficients by using classical control fields. In particular, we find that the total photon transmission and reflection are achieva...
متن کاملCPW Triple Passband Filter using the Split-Modes of Stub Square Loop Resonators
This paper presents a novel coplanar waveguide (CPW) dual pass band and triple pass band filter using the split-modes of the loaded stub square loop resonators. With the CPW feeding line, two micro strip stub resonators built on the rear sides are used to suppress resonance. We have designed our filter on the FR4 substrate (permittivity = 4. 4 and loss tangent=0. 02) with 20x50mm square and thi...
متن کاملGain optimization of the optical waveguide based on the quantum box core/shell structure
In order to implement an integrated optical quantum circuit, designing waveguides based on the quantum box is of prime importance. To do this we have investigated optical waveguide both with and without optical pumping. The rate of absorption and emission using an array of AlGaAs/GaAs quantum box core/shell structure in the optical waveguide with various pumping intensities has computed. By con...
