An Image Fusion Approach Based on Discrete Wavelet Frame

چکیده

In this paper, a multi-scale image fusion method based on discrete wavelet frame (DWF) is proposed for merging a high-resolution panchromatic image and a low-resolution multispectral image. The downampling process is avoided by using discrete wavelet frame decomposition. It leads to translation invariant and is available for the image fusion. The lowfrequency part of the panchromatic image is directly substituted by the multispectral image. As a result, the multispectral information of the multispectral image can be retained effectively in the fusion image. Due to multiscale method, which is used to enhance the highfrequency parts of the panchromatic image, spatial information of the fusion image can be improved. Experimental results indicate that the proposed one outperforms several other multiresoluton fusion approaches.
