The Gamma Alpha Graduate Scientific Fraternity held its annual council meeting and convention on Friday and Saturday. Discussion of matters of policy centered around the report of a committee which has been investigating ways and means of increasing the usefulness of the fraternity to its members and to science in general. The report stressed the opinion of university presidents, deans of graduate schools and well-known scientists that the organization occupies a unique position among scientific societies and plays a valuable role in the various universities which have chapters. H. R. Nelson (Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio) was elected president and Professor Scott Mackay (University of Wisconsin) secretary. Sigma Delta Epsilon, graduate women's scientific fraternity, held its annual business meeting on Thursday at which the following officers were elected: President, Helen Jean Brown (Ohio State University); vice-presidents, M.
