Clusters number counts dependence on dark energy inhomogeneities and coupling to dark matter

Many dark energy candidates have been proposed to explain the accelerated expansion the universe seems to be currently undertaking. Discriminating between them is likely to be a major issue in the near future, and cluster number counts would be a good tool for this. In this article we study scalar field candidates to dark energy which are coupled to dark matter. We focus on comparing the cluster number counts dependence on both the amount of dark matter coupled to dark energy and the behaviour of dark energy inhomogeneities during the non-linear regime of structure formation. Wiggles in cluster number counts are also shown as an specific signature for coupled models, which might be detected in near future surveys. ‡ E-mail: [email protected] § E-mail: [email protected]
