چکیده

This paper addresses some key aspects regarding integrated use of radar, optical and GPS data over Vrancea seismic area in Romania in order to assess active tectonic of this region, since it has allowed the detection of active movements mainly coincident with active faults and/or with areas of seimicity concentration. Field studies should be oriented to the locations where seismic anomalies have been detected. Classifications of different geologic features and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) generation from SAR ERS 1/2, Landsat TM, ETM and ASTER data are highly correlated with in-situ ground data. GPS Romanian network stations data revealed a crustal displacement of about 5 or 6 millimeters per year in horizontal direction relative motion, and a few millimeter per year in vertical direction.

Earthquake Precursors Assessment in Vrancea Area, Romania by Satellite and Geophysical In-situ Data

Earthquake prediction has two potentially compatible but distinctly different objectives: (a) phenomena that provide information about the future earthquake hazard useful to those who live in earthquake-prone regions and (b) phenomena causally related to the physical processes governing failure on a fault that will improve our understanding of those processes. For seismic hazard analysis in Vra...

A Review of the Three-dimensional Field Displacement Retrieval Methods Using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Observations (InSAR) With Emphasis on the Precision of Each of these Methods

Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology provides a useful tool for quantitatively measuring the deformation of the earth, influenced by natural factors (earthquake, subsidence, and landslide) and human factors (construction of structures, drilling, and the overexploitation of underground water aquifers). In this context, time-series analysis of radar images allows the monito...

Mapping surface deformation related to the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake with ALOS InSAR and GPS observations

The Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake occurred on May 12, 2008 in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, China. The devastating event caused a significant surface rupture and deformation in a large geographical area. This study intends to investigate the co-seismic surface deformations due to the main shock by integrating observations from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and global positio...

Co - seismic slip from the 1995 July 30 Mw = 8 . 1 Antofagasta , Chile , earthquake as constrained by InSAR and GPS observations

S U M M A R Y We analyse radar interferometric and GPS observations of the displacement field from the 1995 July 30 Mw = 8.1 Antofagasta, Chile, earthquake and invert for the distribution of slip along the co-seismic fault plane. Using a fixed fault geometry, we compare the use of singular-value decomposition and constrained linear inversion to invert for the slip distribution and find that the...

Estimation of soil moisture using optical, thermal and radar Remote Sensing )Case Study: South of Tehran(

Traditional methods of field measurement of soil moisture in addition to the difficulty, the need for manpower and money and fail to take place on a large scale to be able to show moisture. Therefore, remote sensing has become a widespread use .Landsat 8 satellite data and Sentinel-1 radar satellite from Tehran were provided. 72 soil samples were taken at the same time by satellite passing from...
