Nomograms for calculation of urea clearance.
نویسنده
چکیده
Two nomograms are given for use in calculating standard, C3, or maximum, Cm, urea clearance. The first nomogram calculates the urine flow rate, f, from the urine collection time and volume data. With the second nomogram, values of f and urea nitrogen concentrations in blood serum (or plasma) and urine are used to calculate either C3 or Cm, according to the value of f. There is no intermediate calculation of Examples of the use of the two nomograms in the calculation of c, or Cm are given.

The Validity of the Calculation of Standard Urea Clearances from Low Urine Volumes.
The "standard urea clearance" is calculated upon the assumption that the urea excretion will vary with the square root of the urine volume, when the latter is below the augmentation limit of about two milliliters per minute. The result of the calculation gives the milliliters of blood which would be cleared were the urine volume one milliliter per minute, if the square root rule were strictly t...
متن کاملA camera based calculation of 99mTc-MAG3 clearance using conjugate views method [Persian]
Background: Measurement of absolute or differential renal function using radiotracers plays an important role in the clinical management of various renal diseases. Gamma camera quantitative methods in approximation of renal clearance may potentially be as accurate as plasma clearance methods. However some critical factors such as kidney depth and background counts are still troublesome in...
متن کاملUrea Excretion at Low Urine Volumes. the Calculation of "minimal" Urea Clearances.
In a previous paper (1), it was shown that the calculation of standard urea clearances from urine volumes of less than about 0.35 ml. per minute gives results which are considerably too low. It was found that the lower the urine volume is, the greater the error becomes, as the calculated standard clearance falls lower and lower. This was demonstrated in 173 adults, including patients with toxem...
متن کاملDosing nomograms for attaining optimum concentrations of meropenem by continuous infusion in critically ill patients with severe gram-negative infections: a pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics-based approach.
The worrisome increase in Gram-negative bacteria with borderline susceptibility to carbapenems and of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae has significantly undermined their efficacy. Continuous infusion may be the best way to maximize the time-dependent activity of meropenem. The aim of this study was to create dosing nomograms in relation to different creatinine clearance (CL(Cr)) estim...
متن کاملEnhancement of Toxic Substances Clearance from Blood Equvalent Solution and Human Whole Blood through High Flux Dialyzer by 1 MHz Ultrasound
Background: Hemodialysis is a process of removing waste and excess fluid from blood when kidneys cannot function efficiently. It often involves diverting blood to the filter of the dialysis machin to be cleared of toxic substances. Fouling of pores in dialysis membrane caused by adhesion of plasma protein and other toxins will reduce the efficacy of the filtre. Objective: In This study, the infl...
