چکیده

Original scientific paper In this paper, influence of flame spraying and fusing on microstructure of substrates made from heat treated carbon steel C45, a heat treated low alloyed 42CrMo4 steel and stainless austenitic steel X6CrNiMo18-10-2, has been investigated. Flame spraying and fusing is a deposition technique commonly applied to nickel-base self-fluxing alloys (NiCrBSi alloys). Because of high temperature of fusing (approximately 1000 oC), a diffusion bond between the coating and the substrate is created and a homogeneous coating with decreased porosity is obtained. It has been proved that there is a significant influence of fusing temperature on the microstructure of substrate materials, especially on the coating/substrate interface.

INFLUENCE OF HEAT TREATMENT PARAMETERS,TEMPERATURE AND TIME, ON WEAR AND MICROHARDNESS OF NICRBSI FLAME SPRAYED COATINGS APPLIED ON CK45 SUBSTRATES

The objectives of this research were to find an economical way of reducing porosities in the microstructure of coatings deposited by flame spraying technique on CK45 steel and also trying to increase their cohesive strength to the substrate, so that the overall wear properties of this type of coating can be improved. So several specimens from this steel coated with NiCrBSi powder under specific...

Microstructure and Microwave Absorption Properties of Flame Sprayed Ceramic Coatings

In this research work, airplane grade aluminum alloy substrate was coated by Al2O3/ TiO2 ceramic coatings in two different compositions as 50:50 and 87:13 using Flame spraying technique. The surface & cross-sectional morphological characterizations of the Al2O3/ TiO2 powders and coatings were performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The microwave absorbing properties of coatings were ex...

Mullite and Mullite/ZrO2-7wt.%Y2O3 Powders for Thermal Spraying of Environmental Barrier Coatings

Mullite and mullite/ZrO2-7wt.%Y2O3 coatings could be thought among the main protective layers for environment barrier coatings (EBCs) to protect Si-based substrates in future gas turbine engines. Considering that feedstock of the compound powder is not commercially available, two powder processing routes Spray Drying (SD) and Flame Spheroidization (FS) were implemented for both types of powders...

Processing and Characterisation of High-velocity Suspension Flame Sprayed (hvsfs) Bioactive Glass Coatings

The High-Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS) technique was employed in order to deposit bioactive glass coatings onto titanium substrates. Two different glass compositions were examined: the classical 45S5 Bioglass and a newly-developed SiO2–CaO–K2O–P2O5 glass, labelled as “Bio-K”. Suitable raw materials were melted in a furnace and fritted by casting into water. The frit was dry-milled ...

Investigation of Hardness, Morphology and Structural Analysis of NiCrBSi Composite Coating on Plain Carbon Steel

High velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) is one of the emerging technologies among the thermal spraying techniques, for producing uniform and dense coatings, having high hardness and very low porosity. A NiCrBSi alloy coating was prepared with approximately 400µm thick, on the A516 steel by means of HVOF and was analyzed with regard to its detailed microstructures, phase formation, thickness, roughness an...
