چکیده

Rendezvous problem has been attracting much attention as a fundamental process to construct the Cognitive Radio Network (CRN). Many elegant algorithms have been proposed to achieve rendezvous on some common channel in a short time, but they are vulnerable to the jamming attacks where a jammer may exist listening or blocking the channels [13]. In this paper, we propose the Multi-Radio Channel Detecting Jamming Attack (MRCDJA) problem where the jammer can access multiple channels simultaneously. We assume the users adopting the Enhanced Jump Stay (EJS) [7] algorithm, which guarantees rendezvous by generating a channel hopping sequence, and our goal is to determine the hopping sequence as quickly as possible.

Revisiting the Performance of the Modular Clock Algorithm for Distributed Blind Rendezvous in Cognitive Radio Networks

We reexamine the modular clock algorithm for distributed blind rendezvous in cognitive radio networks. It proceeds in rounds. Each round consists of scanning twice a block of generated channels. The modular clock algorithm inspired the creation of the jump-stay rendezvous algorithm. It augments the modular clock with a stay-on-onechannel pattern. This enhancement guarantees rendezvous in one ro...

A Dynamic Parallel-rendezvous MAC Mechanism in Multi-rate Cognitive Radio Networks: MechanismDesign and Performance Evaluation

Parallel rendezvous multi-channel MAC mechanisms are regarded as an efficient method for media access control in cognitive radio networks since they do not need a control channel and use only one transceiver. However, existing parallel rendezvous MAC mechanisms assume that all channels have the same maximum capacity and channel availability for secondary users. In this paper, we propose a dynam...

Cognitive Radio Based Jamming Resilient Multi-channel MAC Protocol for Wireless Network

Radio jamming attack is the most effective and easiest Denial-of –Service (DOS) attack in wireless network. In this paper, we proposed a multi-channel MAC protocol to mitigate the jamming attacks by using cognitive radio. The Cognitive Radio (CR) technology supports real-time spectrum sensing and fast channel switching. By using CR technologies, the legitimate nodes can perform periodic spectru...

Modeling of the channel-hopping anti-jamming defense in multi-radio wireless networks

Multi-radio (multi-interface, multi-channel) 802.11 and sensor networks have been proposed to increase network capacity and to reduce energy consumption, to name only a few of their applications. They are vulnerable, however, to jamming attacks, in which attackers block communication by radio interference or MAC-protocol violation. Two jamming countermeasures have been proposed, namely software...

Attack-Aware Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks under Byzantine Attack

Cooperative Spectrum Sensing (CSS) is an effective approach to overcome the impact of multi-path fading and shadowing issues. The reliability of CSS can be severely degraded under Byzantine attack, which may be caused by either malfunctioning sensing terminals or malicious nodes. Almost, the previous studies have not analyzed and considered the attack in their models. The present study introduc...
