Weak Typed Boehm Theorem on IMLL
نویسنده
چکیده
In the Böhm theorem workshop on Crete island, Zoran Petric called Statman’s “Typical Ambiguity theorem” typed Böhm theorem. Moreover, he gave a new proof of the theorem based on set-theoretical models of the simply typed lambda calculus. In this paper, we study the linear version of the typed Böhm theorem on a fragment of Intuitionistic Linear Logic. We show that in the multiplicative fragment of intuitionistic linear logic without the multiplicative unit 1 (for short IMLL) weak typed Böhm theorem holds. The system IMLL exactly corresponds to the linear lambda calculus without exponentials, additives and logical constants. The system IMLL also exactly corresponds to the free symmetric monoidal closed category without the unit object. As far as we know, our separation result is the first one with regard to these systems in a purely syntactical manner.

متن کاملStrong Typed Boehm Theorem and Functional Completeness on the Linear Lambda Calculus
In this paper, we prove a version of the typed Böhm theorem on the linear lambda calculus, which says, for any given types A and B, when s1 and s2 (respectively, u1 and u2) are different closed terms of A (resp. B), there is a term t such that t s1 =βηc u1 and t s2 =βηc u2 . Several years ago, a weaker version of this theorem was proved, but the stronger version was open. As a corollary of this...
متن کاملExtracting a Normalization Algorithm in Isabelle/HOL
We present a formalization of a constructive proof of weak normalization for the simply-typed λ-calculus in the theorem prover Isabelle/HOL, and show how a program can be extracted from it. Unlike many other proofs of weak normalization based on Tait’s strong computability predicates, which require a logic supporting strong eliminations and can give rise to dependent types in the extracted prog...
متن کاملLecture notes on the lambda calculus
This is a set of lecture notes that developed out of courses on the lambda calculus that I taught at the University of Ottawa in 2001 and at Dalhousie University in 2007. Topics covered in these notes include the untyped lambda calculus, the Church-Rosser theorem, combinatory algebras, the simply-typed lambda calculus, the Curry-Howard isomorphism, weak and strong normalization, type inference,...
متن کاملOn categorical equivalence of Gentzen-style derivations in IMLL
A new deciding algorithm for categorical equivalence of derivations in Intuitionistic Multiplicative Linear Logic (IMLL) is proposed. The algorithm is based uniquely on manipulations with Gentzen-style derivations. The algorithm has low polynomial complexity. The paper also contains results concerning permutability of rules and its connection with categorical equivalence. c © 2002 Elsevier Scie...
