Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approach to the Chronically Vomiting Dog and Cat
نویسنده
چکیده
The primary clinical sign associated with gastric dysfunction is vomiting. Vomiting may also be associated with diseases of other parts of the gastrointestinal tract, or other abdominal organs. Within the gastrointestinal tract vomiting may occur due to inflammation, infection, obstruction, motility disorders, or neoplasia affecting the stomach, small intestine, or less commonly colon. Other disorders that may be associated with vomiting include hepatic, renal and pancreatic disease, peritonitis, hypoadrenocorticism, hyperthyroidism, diabetic ketoacidosis, pyometra, neoplasia, toxicoses, and central nervous system disorders. Refer to Table 2 for a more complete list of differential diagnoses for vomiting in dogs and cats.

The objective of this descriptive study was to determine Felis domesticus (cat) and Canis familiaris (dog) protein epitopes that bind strongly to selected HLA class II alleles to identify synthetic vaccine candidate epitopes and to identify individuals/populations who are likely to respond to vaccines. FASTA amino acid sequences of experimentally validated allergenic proteins of house cat and d...

Although thrombotic elements from the circulation provide the most common context for thromboembolic SIs, immune-mediated hemolytic anemia (IMHA) has not been reported as an underlying...
