Model-based TesTing of ford’s lane Keeping sysTeM

چکیده

The concept of Ford’s lane keeping sys tem includes two variants: The driver can select a warning function and a lane keeping function in case the vehicle leaves its current lane, known as lane keeping alert, ❶, and lane keeping aid, ❷, respectively. Both functions make use of a camera serving as a sensor for iden tifying the traffic lane and the lane mark ings. Identifying the ve hicle’s own lane while continuously calculating the refer ence steering angle as well as keeping the vehicle safely in its lane need to be assured by appropriate tests. The lane keeping alert system is out lined in 1. The lane keeping alert func tion takes action by vibrating the steering wheel as an alert when the driver leaves his marked traffic lane. The lane keeping aid system, 2, reacts earlier, exerting a superimposed steering torque. This must be “soft” and override able by the driver. The steering feeling and behaviour of this action are some Dipl.-ing. Dirk gunia is Group Leader and responsible for the development of camera-based driver assistance systems at FordWerke GmbH in Cologne (Germany).

Lane Change Trajectory Model Considering the Driver Effects Based on MANFIS

The lane change maneuver is among the most popular driving behaviors. It is also the basic element of important maneuvers like overtaking maneuver. Therefore, it is chosen as the focus of this study and novel multi-input multi-output adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system models (MANFIS) are proposed for this behavior. These models are able to simulate and predict the future behavior of a Dri...

DLMS: Ten Years of AI for Vehicle Assembly Process Planning

Since its presentation at the inaugural 1989 IAAI Conference (O’Brien et al. 1989), Ford’s Direct Labor Management System (DLMS) has evolved from a prototype being tested at a single assembly plant to a fully-deployed application that is being utilized at Ford’s assembly plants throughout the world. DLMS is Ford’s automated solution to managing the automobile manufacturing process system at our...

New Solutions for Singular Lane-Emden Equations Arising in Astrophysics Based on Shifted Ultraspherical Operational Matrices of Derivatives

In this paper, the ultraspherical operational matrices of derivatives are constructed. Based on these operational matrices, two numerical algorithms are presented and analyzed for obtaining new approximate spectral solutions of a class of linear and nonlinear Lane-Emden type singular initial value problems. The basic idea behind the suggested algorithms is basically built on transforming the eq...

A driver-distraction-based lane-keeping assistance system

Single-vehicle roadway departure (SVRD) accidents occur in many cases owing to driver distraction or drowsiness constituting a substantial share of today’s road vehicle accidents and casualties. This paper describes a distraction-based lane-keeping support system, which intervenes only when the driver is positively detected as being distracted. Distraction here is understood as cognitive and vi...

Haptic Shared Control in Steering Operation Based on Cooperative Status Between a Driver and a Driver Assistance System

Haptic shared control is expected to achieve a smooth collaboration between humans and automated systems, because haptics facilitate mutual communication. A methodology for sharing a given task is important to achieve effective shared control. Therefore, the appropriate cooperative relationship between a human operator and automated system should be considered. This paper proposes a methodology...
