چکیده
Purpose: To compare the healing of abdominal wall aponeurosis of rats after incision with either cold scalpel or electrocautery. Methods: Twelve male adults Wistar inbreed rats weightin 258-362g entered the experiment. They were randomly divided in two groups, control group (N= 6) and experimental group (N= 6). All animals underwent anesthesia followed abdominal wall incision with either cold scalpel (controls) or electrocautery (experimental group). The animals were killed on the 10th day and necropsied. Tissue samples containig the abdominal wall aponeurosis were sent for both histological study and hydroxyproline content assay. Results: The histological study showed no significant difference between the two groups. Hydroxiproline content in experimenral group (128,56 [78,98-198,92] μg /100m) was not significantly different from control group (140,27 [116,20-166,59] μg /100ml; p = 0.53). Conclusion: Healing of abdominal wall after dieresis with either cold scalpel or electrocautery are equivalent and do not differ.

Comparative study of abdominal cavity temporary closure techniques for damage control.
The damage control surgery, with emphasis on laparostomy, usually results in shrinkage of the aponeurosis and loss of the ability to close the abdominal wall, leading to the formation of ventral incisional hernias. Currently, various techniques offer greater chances of closing the abdominal cavity with less tension. Thus, this study aims to evaluate three temporary closure techniques of the abd...
متن کاملAnalysis of Biomechanical Parameters in Colonic Anastomosis
BACKGROUND The use of measures in colonic anastomoses to prevent dehiscences is of great medical interest. Sugarcane molasses, which has adequate tolerability and compatibility in vivo, has not yet been tested for this purpose. AIM To analyze the biomechanical parameters of colonic suture in rats undergoing colectomy, using sugarcane molasses polysaccharide as tape or gel. METHODS 45 Wistar...

Background: The evaluation of collagen in the abdominal wall has been increasingly studied because of the relevance on collagen in the healing process after laparotomy. Aim: To evaluate the amount of collagen in the linea alba of patients undergoing laparotomic bariatric surgery and comparing with non-obese cadavers. Methods: Were evaluated 88 samples of aponeurosis from abdominal linea alb...
