چکیده

The molecular interactions between the component networks in poly(methacrylic acid)/poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PMAA/PNIPAAm) interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) were investigated using attenuated total reflectance (ATR)Fourier transform IR (FTIR) spectroscopy. Hydrogen-bond formation was noted between the carboxyl groups of PMAA and the amide groups of PNIPAAm. The ATR-FTIR results showed shifts in the carboxylic and amide groups, indicating the existence of hydrogen bonding between these two individual networks within the IPNs. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Morphology of poly(methacrylic acid)/poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) interpenetrating polymeric networks.

The morphology of interpenetrating polymeric networks (IPNs) composed of the temperature-sensitive poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAm) and the pH-sensitive poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The IPN hydrogels were prepared by a sequential UV polymerization method. SEM studies were conducted on IPN hydrogel samples dried by different methods...

ESR spin-label study of poly(styrene-co-methacrylic acid)/poly(epsilon-caprolactone) semi-interpenetrating polymer networks with controlled hydrogen-bond interactions.

The morphology and miscibility of semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPN) prepared with poly(styrene-co-methacrylic acid) [P(S-co-MAA)] of different carboxylic acid contents and poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) have been studied by ESR spin-label method. The ESR spectra of spin-labeled PCL showed one motional component at any specific temperature. It indicated that the spin-labeled mo...

Preparation of silver-poly(acrylamide-co-methacrylic acid) composite microspheres with patterned surface structures

Acrylamide (AM) and methacrylic acid (MAA) copolymer microgels were prepared by a reverse suspension polymerization technique. The microgels were used as templates for the preparation of silver-poly(acrylamide-co-methacrylic acid) [Ag-P(AM-co-MAA)] composite microspheres. The surface structures of the microspheres prepared in this way are characterized by zigzag-like structures. It was found th...

Semi-IPNs with varying contents of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), poly acrylamide (PAM) and crosslinker N,N’methylene bis acrylamide (MBA) were prepared by redox polymerization method. The structural and morphological properties were studied by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods, respectively. It was ...

Drug diffusion and binding in ionizable interpenetrating networks from poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(acrylic acid).

Hydrogels of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), and their interpenetrating networks (IPNs) were prepared using glutaraldehyde and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinking agents. The hydrogels were characterized by measuring their equilibrium polymer volume fraction, equilibrium swelling ratio, and mesh size. Drug and protein diffusion through these hydrogels were studie...
