Separation of variables via integral transformations

چکیده
For a system of linear partial differential equations (LPDEs) we introduce an operator equation for auxiliary operators. These operators are used to construct a kernel of an integral transformation leading the LPDE to the separation of variables (SoV). The auxiliary operators are found for various types of the SoV including conventional SoV in the scalar second order LPDE and the SoV by the functional Bethe anzatz. The operators are shown to relate to separable variables. This approach is similar to the positionmomentum transformation to action angle coordinates in the classical mechanics. General statements are illustrated by some examples.

متن کاملSINC–PACK, and Separation of Variables
This talk consists of a proof of part of Stenger’s SINC-PACK computer package (an approx. 400-page tutorial + about 250 Matlab programs) that one can always achieve separation of variables when solving linear elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic PDE (partial differential equations) via use of Sinc methods. Some examples illustrating computer solutions via SINC-PACK will nevertheless be given in ...
متن کاملAddenda and corrections to work done on the path - integral approach to classical mechanics
In this paper we continue the study of the path-integral formulation of classical mechanics and in particular we better clarify, with respect to previous papers, the geometrical meaning of the variables entering this formulation. With respect to the first paper with the same title, we correct here the set of transformations for the auxiliary variables λ a. We prove that under this new set of tr...
متن کاملPath Integral Quantization and Riemannian-Symplectic Manifolds
We develop a mathematically well-defined path integral formalism for general symplectic manifolds. We argue that in order to make a path integral quantization covariant under general coordinate transformations on the phase space and involve a genuine functional measure that is both finite and countably additive, the phase space manifold should be equipped with a Riemannian structure (metric). A...
متن کاملTopological Invariant Variables in Qcd
We show that the class of functions of topologically nontrivial gauge transformations in QCD includes a zero-mode of the Gauss law constraint. The equivalent unconstrained system compatible with Feynman's integral is derived in terms of topological invariant variables, where the zero-mode is identified with the winding number collective variable and leads to the dominance of the Wu-Yang monopol...
