Free-field Calibration of Mems Microphone Array Used for Acoustic Holography

چکیده
The paper deals with method and methodology for calibration of the whole microphone array without the need of dismounting of each microphone and calibrating separately. This situation is usual with MEMS transducers which cannon be dismantled from the frame. The method is based on generation of spherical acoustic wave propagating in free-field and synchronously received by all microphones in the array. Relative amplitude and phase calibration can be done by knowledge of propagation, where analytical solution is only available for simple source like monopole, but practical implementation of such source is difficult. Thus, two types of real sources have been tested and compared for suitability. One source was small loudspeaker mounted inside the plastic ball with small hole/vent on the surface and second one was commercial omni-source loudspeaker. Practical experiments have been carried out in large anechoic chamber where standard microphone array with laboratory microphones has been used as a reference system for evaluation of monopole radiation by the practical sources and afterwards these sources have been used for calibration of MEMS microphone array. Results of practical measurements show good spherical radiation of monopole in the sphere and wider frequency range of applicability compared with omni-source loudspeaker.

Comparison of patch acoustic holography methods for confined space
Localization and characterization of noise and vibration sources through measurement of sound fields radiated from vibrating structures plays an important role in vibration diagnostics. Sound pressure field measured in closed distance to the source with a microphone array is then inversely processed with the suitable near-field acoustic holography method to obtain the estimation of sound field ...

In this paper, a model for MEMS capacitive microphone is presented for integrated circuits. The microphone has a diaphragm thickness of 1 μm, 0.5 × 0.5 mm2 dimension, and an air gap of 1.0 μm. Using the analytical and simulation results, the important features of MEMS capacitive microphone such as pull-in voltage and sensitivity are obtained 3.8v and 6.916 mV/Pa, respectively while there is no...

متن کاملA Free-Source Method (FrSM) for Accurately and Quickly Calibrating a Large-Aperture Microphone Array
Large-aperture microphone arrays can be used to capture and enhance speech from individual talkers in noisy, multi-talker, and reverberant environments. An important factor for their use is array calibration. Due to the size and complexity of these arrays, direct-measuring techniques such as using a measuring tape or a laser-based tool are too cumbersome and time consuming. Previous methods tha...

(Near-field Acoustic Holography, Audio Production, Guitar) In recording studios, the placement of microphones to record an acoustic guitar is very much subjected to trial and error and audio engineer preference. In order to make more informed microphone placement decisions, Near-field Acoustic Holography is used to study the sound pressures of the guitar. This technique involves solving the int...
