چکیده

Bioresorbable vascular scaffold has many advantages over the metallic stent in the treatment of coronary stenotic lesions. It has added advantages in lesions that are close to the ostium of the culprit vessel, as in the left main coronary artery, right coronary artery, or left internal mammary artery, as in our case. As the hanging segments of the stent dissolve in 2 years, it reduces difficulty in engaging the vessel for future interventions if needed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case report of the Absorb bioresorbable vascular scaffold implanted in the left internal mammary artery from the left radial approach.

Coregistered intravascular ultrasound and optical coherence tomography imaging during implantation of a bioresorbable vascular scaffold.

A 50-year-old man presented with exertional angina and a positive treadmill test. Coronary angiography demonstrated a significant lesion in the mid-right coronary artery, and he proceeded to percutaneous coronary intervention. Because implantation of a bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS) (Abbott Vascular, Santa Clara, California) was considered, intracoronary imaging was performed using both ...

Two-year Optical Coherence Tomography Findings after Balloon-Only Treatment of Bioresorbable Scaffold Restenosis in a Calcified Coronary Lesion: A Case Report

We report a case of a 65-year-old female patient treated with an everolimus-eluting bioresorbable scaffold (BRS) after rotational atherectomy of a severely calcified lesion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. The implanted BRS restenosed 10 months after implantation and was treated with a scoring balloon followed by drug-eluting balloons with good immediate and long-term results. T...

Coronary Artery Vessel Healing Pattern, Short and Long Term, After Implantation of the Everolimus‐Eluting Bioresorbable Vascular Scaffold

BACKGROUND Although the Absorb bioresorbable vascular scaffold is increasingly used in daily clinical practice for the treatment of coronary artery disease, the exact vascular healing pattern and the resorption process in humans is unknown because histological data are derived only from animal studies. METHODS AND RESULTS We have obtained 4 autopsies (5 scaffolds) since August 2013. Duration ...

Primary percutaneous coronary intervention in a patient with right internal mammary artery graft originating from arteria lusoria dextra.

INTRODUCTION Congenital aomalies of the aortic arch, although numerous and heterogeneous, occur in less than 1% of individuals at autopsies. Left aortic arch with an aberrant right subclavian artery, also called arteria lusoria dextra, is the most common anomaly of the aortic arch, occurring in 0.5-2.5% of individuals. CASE OUTLINE We report the case of a 48-year-old man suffering from acute ...
