This stuely aflempts to measure the prodllctivi~y of Ihe life insurance inelustry by employing the non-parametric Malmquist Index approach. The ]inding shows that despite the productivity growth in the insurance industry, it is relatively loll' compared to the real economic growth experienced by Malaysia. Like the mallufacllfring sectol; thefurure growth of this indusll~y 1V0uld depend on its ability to compete eJflcienlly.
