چکیده
The interaction of formic acid with Ni( 1 lo), Ni( 1 lO)-carbide, Ni( 1 IO)-graphite, and Ni( 1 lO)sulfide surfaces was examined by molecular beam relaxation spectrometry. The apparent firstorder rate constants for the desorption of formic acid (T, < 300°K) were remarkably similar on all of the surfaces studied, suggesting that the low-temperature formic acid adsorption/desorption interactions were essentially identical on the different catalytic surfaces investigated. The onset of formic acid decomposition occurred in the vicinity of room temperature for the different surfaces examined, and the decomposition probabilities above room temperature varied appreciably from surface to surface. The decomposition probabilities above room temperature were 0.9 for Ni( 1 lo), 0.5 for Ni( I lO)-carbide, and ~0.1 for Ni( 1 IO)-graphite and Ni(1 IO)-sulfide.

Interaction of atomic hydrogen with monometallic Au(100), Cu(100), Pt(100) surfaces and surface of bimetallic Au@Cu(100), Au@Pt(100) overlayer systems: The role of magnetism
The spin-polarized calculations in generalized gradient approximation density–functional theory (GGA–DFT) have been used to show how the existence of second metals can modify the atomic hydrogen adsorption on Au (100), Cu (100), and Pt (100) surfaces. The computed adsorption energies for the atomic hydrogen adsorbed at the surface coverage of 0.125 ML (monolayer) for the monometallic Au (100), ...
متن کاملDissociative adsorption of H2 on Cu(100): A four-dimensional study of the effect of rotational motion on the reaction dynamics
The reaction of H2 on Cu~100! is investigated using a four-dimensional ~4D! quantum dynamical fixed-site model to assess the influence of molecular rotation on dissociation over the most reactive ~the bridge! site. The potential energy surface ~PES! is a fit to the results of density functional calculations performed using a generalized gradient approximation treating a Cu slab with a periodic ...
متن کاملReaction Dynamics of NH2+OH on an Interpolated Potential Energy Surface
QCT calculations were performed to study the behavior of energized NH2OH formed by association collision of NH2 radical with OH radical. A potential energy surface that describes the behavior of the title reaction has been constructed by interpolation of ab initio data. H2O, HON, HNO, NH3, O, H2NO, cis or trans-HONH, and H products and two vibrationally energized NH2OH and NH3O adducts were obs...

Cadmium sulfide (CdS) photosensitizers were successfully formed on the mesoporous titania films using the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method in five cycles, and the effects of particles size distribution and their occupied surface area on the morphology, topography, optical property, and photovoltaic performance were investigated. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) im...
متن کاملSurface Chemistry of Silica-Titania-supported Chromium Oxide Catalysts
The interaction of chromium oxide with different titania-silica supports has been examined. The oxide supports investigated consisted of SiO,, TiO, , physical mixtures of TiO, and SiO,, a surface titania overlayer on SiO, (10% of theoretical monolayer) and a surface silica overlayer on TiO, (80% of theoretical monolayer). The supported chromium oxide catalysts were structurally characterized wi...
