Stereo Vision Computer Depth Perception

چکیده
Stereo Vision is an area of study in the field of Machine Vision that attempts to recreate the human vision system by using two or more 2D views of the same scene to derive 3D depth information about the scene. Depth information can be used to track moving objects in 3D space, gather distance information for scene features, or to construct a 3D spatial model of a scene. As an emerging technology, Stereo Vision algorithms are constantly being revised and developed, and as we will discuss in this paper, many alternative approaches exist for implementation of a Stereo Vision system. This paper introduces Stereo Vision as an area of current international research, presents some interesting applications of Stereo Vision, and discusses implementation of a Stereo Vision system.

Determination of the depth of the image feature distinctive automation and other industries of machine vision and computer vision technology in everyday life are becoming increasingly popular. Some techniques have been proposed to extract from the current depth of a 2D image of the feature, which defines a particular object or structure of the information. In many cases, these techniques are au...
متن کاملGlobal Techniques for Edge based Stereo Matching
Depth perception is one of the most active research areas in computer vision. Passive stereo vision is a well known technique for obtaining 3-D depth information of objects seen by two or more video cameras from different viewpoints (Hartley & Zisserman, 2000|Brown et al., 2003). The difference of the viewpoint positions causes a relative displacement of the corresponding features in the stereo...
متن کاملA Correlation Chip for Stereo Vision
This paper gives an example of how computer vision algorithms can be reformulated to exploit correlation based hardware without compromising the underlying principles of the algorithm. The work shows results of the "stretch-correlation" algorithm for calibrated stereo depth estimation and goes on to discuss the development of a convolution chip for implementing this algorithm. The motivation fo...
