چکیده

Dealing with prepositions such as “near”, “between”, and “in front of” is very important in Geographic Information Systems (GISs). In most systems, real world distances are used to handle these prepositions. One of the difficulties in processing these prepositions lies in the fact that their geographical range are distorted in people’s cognitive maps. For example, size of an area referred by preposition “near” gets narrowed when there exists more famous landmark right next to the base geographical objects. This is because users are likely to choose most famous landmark when referring to certain position. Also, area referred by “between” is not a straight line. It curves along the most commonly used pathway between base ob-

Extending the Qualitative Trajectory Calculus Based on the Concept of Accessibility of Moving Objects in the Paths

Qualitative spatial representation and reasoning are among the important capabilities in intelligent geospatial information system development. Although a large contribution to the study of moving objects has been attributed to the quantitative use and analysis of data, such calculations are ineffective when there is little inaccurate data on position and geometry or when explicitly explaining ...

Specification of History Based Constraints for Access Control in Conceptual Level

An access control model for Semantic Web should take the semantic relationships among the entities, defined in the abstract conceptual level (i.e., ontology level), into account. Authorization and policy specification based on a logical model let us infer implicit security policies from the explicit ones based on the defined semantic relationships in the domains of subjects, objects, and action...

Defining the semantics of rule-based Web applications through model-driven development

Rule languages and inference engines incorporate reasoning capabilities to Web information systems. This paper presents an approach for the specification and development of Web applications performing the usual functionalities of data management and incorporating a rule engine for reasoning capabilities. The proposed approach is based on the definition of a high-level representation of the sema...

Ma(dl): a Normative Logic for Authorization in Semantic-aware Environments

Semantic technology provides an abstraction layer above existing computational environments, especially the Web, to give information a well-defined meaning. Moving toward semanticaware environments imposes new security requirements. One of the most important requirement is the authorization and security policy inference based on the existing semantic relationships in the abstract (conceptual) l...

Integrating Fuzzy Inference System, Image Processing and Quality Control to Detect Defects and Classify Quality Level of Copper Rods

Human-based quality control reduces the accuracy of this process. Also, the speed of decision making in some industries is very important. For removing these limitations in human-based quality control, in this paper, the design of an expert system for automatic and intelligent quality control is investigated. In fact, using an intelligent system, the accuracy in quality control is increased. It...
