Tooth Eruption and Dental Impactions

چکیده
A broad range of variation exists in the normal eruption times of primary and permanent teeth in humans. However, normality is usually associated with bilateral symmetry. Furthermore, cases where eruption time is grossly beyond the extremes of normalcy may be considered to represent a pathological state [1]. Radiography plays an important part in determining the normality of tooth eruption with regard to position and time sequence. This is particularly important in patients whose teeth are undetectable by clinical means, such as those with delayed eruption or impaction. Impaction is the impeding of the eruption by tooth, bone, or pathosis, so the eruption of the tooth is rendered unlikely.

Conservative management of lower second premolar impaction.
Lower second premolars account for approximately 24 per cent of impactions, excluding third molars, even though most reports in the literature relating to impacted teeth address the maxillary canine, with relatively few reports on the lower second premolar. Conservative management involves surgical exposure of the crown, however, subsequent premolar eruption is unpredictable. A case is describe...

BACKGROUND Traumatic injuries to primary teeth represent one of the most common aetiologic factors of time-related eruption disturbances of permanent teeth. These include premature eruption, delayed eruption or impactions. CASE REPORT A case of a 7.5-year-old male with delayed eruption of the maxillary permanent left incisor is presented. The case history revealed a trauma around the age of 3...

Although the incidence of canine impaction is about 1 in 100 in the general popula tion,1 the ratio tends to be much higher in an ortho dontic practice—perhaps as high as 23.5%, ac cording to one researcher.2 Palatal impactions are more prevalent (85%) than labial impactions (15%).35 early detection of impactions is critical to...
متن کاملComplications Following Surgery of Impacted Teeth and Their Management
One of the most performed procedures in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery is removal of impacted teeth, especially third molars. Impaction is defined as failure of teeth to erupt into the dental arch within the expected time [1,2]. The reasons for tooth impaction include several factors subdivided into a local and general factors such as position and size of adjacent teeth, dense ...
