It is unfortunate that Roddis presents Lind as a personage and tells us so little of the person, or rather of the personality, with the drives and motivations which made for such a wide spectrum of researches and activities. But despite the rather too academic and impersonal handling, the story of James Lind offers interesting and profitable reading.
