Are Optimistic Repatriates More Hardy and Resilient?

چکیده
Previous research conducted by the RE Mitchell Center for Prisoner of War Studies (REMC) has concluded that optimism proved to be the strongest predictor of health and resilience in a group of Vietnam era Repatriated Prisoners of War (RPWs). Optimism is associated with increased positive psychological health in those afflicted by extreme trauma or illness (Segovia et. al, 2012). In the followup study (Segovia et. al, 2015), optimism measured at repatriation was again an excellent predictor of a composite measure of psychological (9 component measures) and physical (9 component measures) health. Further studies measured psychological resilience and individual components of hardiness as a mediating factor, but did not study the relationship of optimism or pessimism on resilience and hardiness. The aim of this study is to exploit whether optimists are more hardy and resilient as compared to a pessimist.

An Examination of Factors Influencing Repatriates’ Loyalty
When research on repatriation has shown that repatriates quit within one year of return from a foreign assignment, this study attempts to find what makes some repatriates stay committed and loyal to their companies when their colleagues are quitting and joining their immediate competitors? The research further extends to explore - factors determining repatriates loyalty, repatriates’ most desir...
متن کاملMyocardial infarction incidence and ischemic heart disease mortality: overall and trend results in repatriates, Germany.
BACKGROUND The burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is much more pronounced in Eastern Europe, a spatial gradient within Europe still exists. However, former studies showed a significantly lower CVD mortality of German repatriates from the Former Soviet Union compared with the German population. METHODS All-cause, CVD and ischemic heart disease (IHD) standardized mortality ratio (SMR), IH...
متن کاملA more accurate half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality with the best possible constant factor related to the extended Riemann-Zeta function
By the method of weight coefficients, techniques of real analysis and Hermite-Hadamard's inequality, a half-discrete Hardy-Hilbert-type inequality related to the kernel of the hyperbolic cosecant function with the best possible constant factor expressed in terms of the extended Riemann-zeta function is proved. The more accurate equivalent forms, the operator expressions with the norm, the rever...
متن کاملGoverning the knowledge sharing for repatriates with SECI model:An empirical test
Knowledge sharing of repatriates is embedded in a complex project environment and affected by the organizational knowledge governance mechanisms. This paper seeks to find out the mechanisms that promote repatriates to share their knowledge achieved in international construction projects after returning to domestic projects. We collect data from 245 respondents in 33 Chinese contractors. The tes...
متن کاملA new security proof for FMNV continuous non-malleable encoding scheme
A non-malleable code is a variant of an encoding scheme which is resilient to tampering attacks. The main idea behind non-malleable coding is that the adversary should not be able to obtain any valuable information about the message. Non-malleable codes are used in tamper-resilient cryptography and protecting memories against tampering attacks. Many different types of non-malleability have alre...
