چکیده
Abrupt climatic change, during the Late Quaternary in northern Europe, can be identified using different proxy data sources from sedimentary archives. The Last Glacial-Interglacial Transition (LGIT) (16-8 ka BP) is one such period that provides evidence of well-defined millennial scale climatic oscillations and associated reorganisation of ecosystems. Imprinted upon these longer term episodes are a number of centennial-scale climatic oscillations which are less well-understood. These short-lived events appear to be spatially and temporally complex across northern Europe and frequently have either not been identified or are shown to have limited impact. However, many records have not been studied for proxies which provide evidence of both drivers and response, or the records are not resolved in sufficient detail. Consequently landscape responses to these events are largely unknown.

Rethinking progesterone regulation of female reproductive cyclicity.
The progesterone receptor (PGR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor with key roles in the regulation of female fertility. Much has been learned of the actions of PGR signaling through the use of pharmacologic inhibitors and genetic manipulation, using mouse mutagenesis. Characterization of rats with a null mutation at the Pgr locus has forced a reexamination of the role of progesterone i...
متن کاملConditional Ablation of Progesterone Receptor Membrane Component 1 Results in Subfertility in the Female and Development of Endometrial Cysts.
Progesterone (P4) is essential for female fertility. The objective of this study was to evaluate the functional requirement of the nonclassical P4 receptor (PGR), PGR membrane component 1, in regulating female fertility. To achieve this goal, the Pgrmc1 gene was floxed by insertion of loxP sites on each side of exon 2. Pgrmc1 floxed (Pgrmc1(fl/fl)) mice were crossed with Pgr(cre) or Amhr2(cre) ...
متن کاملThe 2nd United Kingdom Extracellular Vesicle Forum Meeting Abstracts
The UK Extracellular Vesicles (UKEV) Forum meetings were born of the realization that there were a number of UK laboratories studying extracellular vesicle biology and using similar techniques but without a regular national meeting dedicated to EVs at which to share their findings. This was compounded by the fact that many of these labs were working in different fields and thus networking and s...
متن کاملLoss of Fertility in the Absence of Progesterone Receptor Expression in Kisspeptin Neurons of Female Mice
Ovarian steroids, estradiol and progesterone, play central roles in regulating female reproduction by acting as both positive and negative regulators of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion in the hypothalamus. Recent studies have identified kisspeptin neurons of the hypothalamus as the target of estrogenic regulation of GnRH secretion. In this study, we aimed to determine the signif...
