چکیده

In the present paper, the potentiometric response characteristics of a metalloporphyrin-based electrode in o-nitrophenyloctylether (o-NPOE) plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membrane are presented for a set of monovalent anions. As membrane ionophore, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4-methoxyphenyl)-porphyrin-Co(II) (CoTMeOPP) was used. To establish the optimum composition of the membrane, different molar percents of cationic derivative (mol.% relative to ionophore) were used. Electrodes formulated with membranes containing 1 wt.% ionophore, 66 wt.% o-NPOE, 33 wt.% PVC (plasticizer: PVC = 2:1) and the lipophilic cationic derivative (35 mol%) are shown to exhibit high selectivity for thiocyanate with a near-Nernstian slope in the working concentration range of 1.0×10–1.0×10 M, with a good stability in time.

Aluminum(III) Porphyrins as Ionophores for Fluoride Selective Polymeric Membrane Electrodes

Aluminum(III) porphyrins are examined as potential fluoride selective ionophores in polymeric membrane type ionselective electrodes. Membranes formulated with Al(III) tetraphenyl (TPP) or octaethyl (OEP) porphyrins are shown to exhibit enhanced potentiometric selectivity for fluoride over more lipophilic anions, including perchlorate and thiocyanate. However, such membrane electrodes display un...

New selenite ion-selective electrodes based on 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4-methoxyphenyl)-21H,23H-porphyrin-Co(II).

New polymeric membrane (PME), modified carbon paste (MCPE), and coated wire (CWE) selenite ion-selective electrodes based on 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4-methoxyphenyl)-21H,23H-porphyrin-Co(II) (CoTMeOPP) are reported. The best composition was the electrode containing 2% CoTMeOPP as the active material and 49% TCP as plasticizer. The electrodes reveal a Nernstian behavior over a concentration range o...

Fe (II) Ion-Selective Membrane Electrode based onTetra-Phenyl Porphyrin in PVC Matrix

Fe2+ ion-selective membrane sensor has been fabricated from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) matrixmembrane containing neutral carrier tetra phenyl porphyrin (TPP) ionophore. The addition ofsodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) and the plasticizer DBP has been found to substantiallyimprove the performance of the sensor. The best performance was obtained with the sensor havinga membrane of composition of TPP...

Uultra-trace determination of cadmium (II) in aqueous environmental samples by a new ion selective electrode based on nefazodone and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ionic liquid

Background and Objective: Cadmium is a potential environmental contaminant that causes adverse effects on the environment and the health of living organisms. Therefore, designing a simple and economic technique for its determination is very important. In this respect, a potentiometric sensor based on nefazodone as the ionophore and [BMIM]PF6 as the ionic additive were developed for the determin...

Preconcentration of Pb(II) by Graphene Oxide with Covalently Linked Porphyrin Adsorbed on Surfactant Coated C18 before Determination by FAAS

A simple, highly sensitive, accurate and selective method for determination of trace amounts of Pb(II) in water samples is presented. A novel Graphene oxide with covalently linked porphyrin solid-phase extraction adsorbent was synthesized by covalently linked porphyrin onto the surfaces of graphite oxides. The stability of a chemically (GO-H2P) especially in concentrated hydrochloric acid was s...
