Deterministic Seirs Epidemic Model for Modeling Vital Dynamics, Vaccinations, and Temporary Immunity

چکیده
In this paper, the author proposes a new SEIRS model that generalizes several classical deterministic epidemic models (e.g., SIR and SIS and SEIR and SEIRS) involving the relationships between the susceptible S, exposed E, infected I, and recovered R individuals for understanding the proliferation of infectious diseases. As a way to incorporate the most important features of the previous models under the assumption of homogeneous mixing (mass-action principle) of the individuals in the population N, the SEIRS model utilizes vital dynamics with unequal birth and death rates, vaccinations for newborns and non-newborns, and temporary immunity. In order to determine the equilibrium points, namely the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points, and study their local stability behaviors, the SEIRS model is rescaled with the total time-varying population and analyzed according to its epidemic condition R0 for two cases of no epidemic (R0 ≤ 1) and epidemic (R0 > 1) using the time-series and phase portraits of the susceptible s, exposed e, infected i, and recovered r individuals. Based on the experimental results using a set of arbitrarily-defined parameters for horizontal transmission of the infectious diseases, the proportional population of the SEIRS model consisted primarily of the recovered r (0.7–0.9) individuals and susceptible s (0.0–0.1) individuals (epidemic) and recovered r (0.9) individuals with only a small proportional population for the susceptible s (0.1) individuals (no epidemic). Overall, the initial conditions for the susceptible s, exposed e, infected i, and recovered r individuals reached the corresponding equilibrium point for local stability: no epidemic (DFE XDFE) and epidemic (EE XEE).

Threshold dynamics in an SEIRS model with latency and temporary immunity.
A disease transmission model of SEIRS type with distributed delays in latent and temporary immune periods is discussed. With general/particular probability distributions in both of these periods, we address the threshold property of the basic reproduction number R0 and the dynamical properties of the disease-free/endemic equilibrium points present in the model. More specifically, we 1. show the...
متن کاملTwo profitless delays for an SEIRS epidemic disease model with vertical transmission and pulse vaccination
Since the investigation of impulsive delay differential equations is beginning, the literature on delay epidemic models with pulse vaccination is not extensive. In this paper, we propose a new SEIRS epidemic disease model with two profitless delays and vertical transmission, and analyze the dynamics behaviors of the model under pulse vaccination. Using the discrete dynamical system determined b...
متن کاملA Discrete SEIRS Model for Pandemic Periodic Infectious Diseases
A deterministic SEIRS epidemiological model that captures the essential properties of pandemic recurrent diseases is developed here, in terms of a system of delay-difference equations. A non-linear system of difference equations is proposed, based on the assumptions of exponential incidence and of constant periods of latency, infectiousness and immunity. The model is able to reproduce observed ...

متن کاملDynamics of an eco-epidemic model with stage structure for predator
The predator-prey model with stage structure for predator is generalized in the context of ecoepidemiology, where the prey population is infected by a microparasite and the predator completely avoids consuming the infected prey. The intraspecific competition of infected prey is considered. All the equilibria are characterized and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation at the coexistence equilibriu...
