Cystic Pulmonary Chondroid Hamartoma: A Case Report

چکیده
composed of varying proportions of mesenchymal tissues including cartilage, fat, epithelial, and connective tissue combined with entrapped respiratory epithelium (1). Pulmonary hamartomas are the most common benign neoplasms of the lung, accounting for 7-14% of benign solitary pulmonary nodules (1, 2). Pulmonary hamartomas are most commonly presented as incidental lung nodules found on a routine chest radiographic examination in asymptomatic individuals. Previous reports of cystic chondroid hamartomas have been made (2-7), but are extremely rare. We report a case of cystic pulmonary hamartoma which was manifested as a cystic lesion with a solid component. The diagnosis was characterized as a clearly identified popcorn-like calcification, which enabled us to make a confident diagnosis of the disease.

Large multicystic pulmonary chondroid hamartoma in a child presenting as pneumothorax
We describe a 10-year-old boy with a rare large multicystic pulmonary chondroid hamartoma in the right lower lobe presenting with severe respiratory distress. The radiological evaluation showed a large multicystic lesion in the right lower lobe with pneumothorax. Commonly, pulmonary hamartomas are asymptomatic, small in size, and are diagnosed incidentally in adults. Our case is highly unusual ...

Folliculosebaceous Cystic Hamartoma (FSCH) is a cutaneous hamartoma comprised of follicular, sebaceous and mesenchymal elements, and usually occurring during adulthood. Congenital and childhood presentations of this lesion are exceedingly rare. We describe herein a case of congenital FSCH on the midline and posterior region of the neck in a 1-year-old male infant and highlight the clinico...

We report a case of huge pulmonary chondroid hamartoma with multilocular cysts in a 38-yr-old male patient. The lobectomy specimen of the left lower lobe showed a large multilocular cystic mass, 11.5 x 10 cm in size. The mass had thin-walled, variable-sized cysts and areas of solid cartilaginous small nodules in the interstitium, which occupied the superior segment and the upper portion of the ...

A 30-year-old male was admitted to our hospital for a 3-month history of cough. The computed tomography (CT) scan of chest revealed multiple lesions with sporadic calcification (popcorn calcification) in the upper and middle lobes of the right lung (Fig. 1). A presumptive diagnosis of chondroid hamartoma was made according to the CT-guided percutaneous biopsy. Systemic positron emission tomogra...
