Pacemaker Twiddler’s syndrome: Review Through a Case Report
نویسندگان
چکیده
Twiddler’s syndrome, a rare but hazardous complication of cardiac pacemaker treatment, characterized by device malfunction due to dislodgement of cardiac leads resulting from some form of manipulation by the patient. In this report we present a case of pacemaker Twiddler’s syndrome in a middle aged lady who presented with recurrent syncopes after 1 month of initial implantation. Our patient was unique as she had almost none of the standard risk factors for this condition. In our case, reanchoring the lead as well as the pulsegenerator to the pectoral muscle with multiple anchoring sleeves prevented further recurrence.

He finally was diagnosed as having Twiddler's syndrome. The patient had a pulse rate of 36/min and cannon waves in the neck veins. Chest radiography showed a dislodged pacing lead completely wrapped around the pulse...

Ellis-van Creveld syndrome is transmitted as an autosomal recessive trait. This syndrome is accompanied in 60% of cases with congenital heart disease, mostly single atrium or large ASD. Background: Neonatal lupus erythematosus is an uncommon disease. Congenital complete heart block (CCHB) usually happens in neonates with maternal systemic lupus erythematosus. The most prevalent presentation of CCHBis bradycardiathatcanbediagnosed through an electrocardiogram. We report a male patient with acquired unilateral nevoid telangiectasia syndrome without any associated physiological or pathological conditions.<...
