Three-dimensional structure of the human vestibular nuclear complex.

چکیده
We used computer techniques to reconstruct in three dimensions 12 vestibular nuclear complexes (VNC) from serially sectioned brains of 7 patients. Specimens were from 4 patients with vestibular disorders and 3 patients considered vestibular normal. Despite the variety of the patient's otologic histories all the nuclei demonstrated the same shape and structural characteristics.

Stress Analysis of the Human Ligamentous Lumber Spine-From Computer-Assisted Tomography to Finite Element Analysis
Detailed investigation on biomechanics of a complex structure such as the human lumbar spine requires the use of advanced computer-based technique for both the geometrical reconstruction and the stress analysis. In the present study, the computer-assisted tomography (CAT) and finite element method (FEM) are merged to perform detailed three dimensional nonlinear analysis of the human ligamentous...
متن کاملThe thalamocortical vestibular system in animals and humans.
The vestibular system provides the brain with sensory signals about three-dimensional head rotations and translations. These signals are important for postural and oculomotor control, as well as for spatial and bodily perception and cognition, and they are subtended by pathways running from the vestibular nuclei to the thalamus, cerebellum and the "vestibular cortex." The present review summari...
متن کاملDevelopmental expression of tyrosine kinase b in rat vestibular nuclear neurons responding to horizontal and vertical linear accelerations
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is known to be crucial for the development of peripheral vestibular neurons. However, the maturation profile of the BDNF signal transducing receptor, tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) in functionally activated otolith-related vestibular nuclear neurons of postnatal rats remains unexplored. In the present study, conscious Sprague-Dawley rats (P4 to adult) were sub...

متن کاملPreparation of Indium Pentetate complex (¹¹¹In-DTPA) [Persian]
There is no organometalic compound of Indium known to exist naturally in the human body. However, a number of compounds prepared with ¹¹¹In have been evaluated for localization studies. The useful radioactive decay characteristics and the suitable chemical properties of the metal ion have drawn attention of many investigators resulting in the preparation of numerous ¹¹¹In labeled compound...
