چکیده
Insects cause many other forms of damage when they feed on parts of the corn plant, including breakage of the plant, eardrop and kernel damage. Damaged kernels can lead to growth of fungi, which may produce biologically active compounds called mycotoxins (e.g. aflatoxin, fumonisin). Dependent upon their accumulation in kernels, mycotoxins pose a potential threat to human and animal health if consumed.

Growth Performance and Carcass Composition of Pigs Fed Corn Grain from DASØ15Ø7-1 (Herculex I) Hybrids
The objective of this experiment was to evaluate a transgenic source of corn grain containing the event DAS-Ø15Ø7-1 (TC1507) when included in diets fed to growing and finishing pigs. The commercial product trait name of TC1507 corn is Herculex I; this corn grain contains the cry1F gene from Bacillus thuringiensis var. aizawai and the phosphinothricin acetyltransferase (pat) gene from Streptomyc...
متن کاملEffective dominance of resistance of Spodoptera frugiperda to Bt maize and cotton varieties: implications for resistance management
The resistance of fall armyworm (FAW), Spodoptera frugiperda, has been characterized to some Cry and Vip3A proteins of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) expressed in transgenic maize in Brazil. Here we evaluated the effective dominance of resistance based on the survival of neonates from selected Bt-resistant, heterozygous, and susceptible (Sus) strains of FAW on different Bt maize and cotton varieti...

Background: The chick embryo is a classical model to study embryonic development. However, most researchers have not studied the effect of embryonic manipulation on chick hatchability. To determine the effect of egg orientation and type of sealing film on the hatchability of cultured embryos, and to determine the fate of adulte stem cells injected into the blastoderm. Materials and Methods: Win...
