چکیده

Based on the concept of ultra-tight integration of GSSS, Pseudolite (PL) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), this paper proposes a method to execute quick GNSS/PL signal re-acquisition in short signal blockage scenarios. The key aspect of this method is that the INS measurements are used not only to aid the tracking loops, but also to aid re-acquisition when a signal blockage happens. The re-acquisition unit has advantages over the traditional acquisition methods in that it adopts short time (1ms) data only, is inherently immune to the problem of navigation data transition. Simulation experiments were conducted to compare the performances of the reacquisition algorithm in different C/N0 conditions with different INS Doppler aiding offsets. The results show that, under such conditions that the C/N0 is above 36dBHz and INS Doppler estimation offset is below 50Hz, the signal can be re-acquired within the range of ±30Hz of frequency bias, which can be tracked by the following tracking unit.

GNSS signal re-acquisition with biased Doppler aiding from INS

Existing INS-aided GPS re-acquisition methods use either long coherent integration periods or non-coherent accumulation to obtain the required frequency resolution or acquire low C/N0 signals. Such methods need accurate position or velocity aiding, which is generally unavailable in many signal re-acquisition scenarios that use low-cost receiver oscillators and sensors. Furthermore, in high dyna...

GPS/Pseudolite/SDINS Integration Approach for Kinematic Applications

This paper discusses the introduction of pseudolites (ground-based GPS-like signal transmitters) in existing integrated GPS/INS systems in order to provide higher availability, integrity and accuracy in a local area. Even though integrated GPS/INS systems can overcome inherent drawbacks of each component system (line-ofsight requirement for GPS, and INS errors that grow with time), performance ...

Stand-Alone and Hybrid Positioning Using Asynchronous Pseudolites

global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers are usually unable to achieve satisfactory performance in difficult environments, such as open-pit mines, urban canyons and indoors. Pseudolites have the potential to extend GNSS usage and significantly improve receiver performance in such environments by providing additional navigation signals. This also applies to asynchronous pseudolite sys...

Integration of GNSS and Pseudo-Satellites: New Concepts for Precise Positioning

Current Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), such as the GPS and Glonass systems, have been widely used in surveying and geodesy. It is well known that for such spaceborne satellite positioning systems the accuracy, availability and reliability of the positioning results is very dependent on both the number and geometric distribution of satellites being tracked. However, under some harsh...
