چکیده

The complexity in design and dimensioning of electric traction fixed installations necessitates the development of a methodology for dimensioning based on numerical simulation models. This solution gives faster and more reliable results than those obtained by the empirical and inaccurate methods previously used. A computer aided design tool implementing this methodology is presented in this paper. Various elements such as truck data, catenary, traction substations, rolling stock, train composition, railway network and schedule conditions are considered. The analysis of the resulting simulated output allows optimisation and selection of the best solution for the power supply system of a railway network, as far as traction substations and overhead line systems are concerned. Therefore, the final choice of the electrical energy supply system that fulfils the technical requirements and ensures the programmed traffic, should be submitted to the analysis of a minimum cost criterion, regarding available feeding points of the energy supplier network.

A Comprehensive Model for Adhesion Control System of Wheel and Rail

This paper presents the movement dynamic of the train and the relationship between the speed of wheel and train, as well as a discussion about the concept of wheel slip. There are two different operation regions designated as creep and wheelspin areas for wheel slip. Creep and wheelspin areas have stable and unstable characteristics, respectively. Wheels and rails are constructed from iron, and...

Parameters Assignment of Electric Train Controller by Using Gravitational Search Optimization Algorithm

The speed profile of the train will be determined according to criteria such as safety, travel convenience, and the type of electric motor used for traction. Due to the passengers and cargo on the train, the electric train load is constantly changing. This will require reassigning the speed controller’s parameters of the electric train. For this purpose, the Gravitational Search optimization Al...
