Endodontic treatment of periapical chronic periodontitis A Laser Assisted Technique
نویسنده
چکیده
Nowadays, the bactericidal effect of laser irradiation is well known in endodontic therapy. Many studies showed that, in combination with an appropriate shaping and cleaning of root canal system, laser irradiation, inside the root canal, could increase the percentage of bactericidal effect in endodontic treatment. Three clinical cases of teeth with periapical chronic periodontitis are presented. In two cases, teeth were treated by one-visit laser-assisted therapy, using Nd:YAG 1,064 nm, the other case was treated following a standardized protocol for diode laser 808 nm. In all the cases a complete long term clinical and radiographic healing was observed. We suggest that “single visit treatment Laser assisted” could be useful in the endodontic treatment of periapical lesions, because it’s safe and could be indicated for patient’s time constraints. _Introduction

Diode laser assisted endodontic treatments in periapical lesions repair: case series
Background and Aim: Bacterial disinfection is considered as the primary etiology of pulpal and periapical lesions and as the result, adequate elimination of such infections is one of the purposes of root canal treatment; But since this purpose is impossible to achieve, reducing the bacterial load seems to be as a rational goal. Diode lasers have made their way into endodontics for better disinf...

Apical periodontitis is produced in the majority of cases by intraradicular infection. Treatment consists in the elimination of the infectious agents by endodontia. Even when carrying out a correct cleansing and filling of canals, it is possible that periapical periodontitis will persist in the form of an asymptomatic radiolucency, giving rise to the post-endodontic periapical lesion. The chron...
متن کاملPeriapical healing outcome following single visit endodontic treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
BACKGROUND The prevalence of apical periodontitis in diabetes mellitus patients is high. The altered immunity in diabetes affects the healing process of periapical tissue. Single visit endodontic treatment has shown to increase the periapical healing rate with better patient compliance. Hence the present study aims at evaluating the clinical and radiographic healing outcome of single visit endo...

The possible connection between chronic oral inflammatory processes, such as apical periodontitis and periodontal disease (PD), and systemic health is one of the most interesting aspects faced by the medical and dental scientific community. Chronic apical periodontitis shares important characteristics with PD: 1) both are chronic infections of the oral cavity, 2) the Gram-negative anaerobic mic...
متن کاملOn the causes of persistent apical periodontitis: a review.
Apical periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disorder of periradicular tissues caused by aetiological agents of endodontic origin. Persistent apical periodontitis occurs when root canal treatment of apical periodontitis has not adequately eliminated intraradicular infection. Problems that lead to persistent apical periodontitis include: inadequate aseptic control, poor access cavity design, m...
