چکیده

Let κ be a singular cardinal. Carol Karp’s notion of a chain model of size κ is defined to be an ordinary model of size κ along with a decomposition of it into an increasing union of length cf(κ). With a notion of satisfaction and (chain)-isomorphism such models give an infinitary logic largely mimicking first order logic. In this paper we associate to this logic a notion of a dynamic EFgame which gauges when two chain models are chain-isomorphic. To this game is associated a tree which is a tree of size κ with no κ-branches (even no cf(κ)branches). The measure of how non-isomorphic the models are is reflected by a certain order on these trees, called reduction. We study the collection of trees of size κ with no κ-branches under this notion and prove that when cf(κ) = ω this collection is rather regular; in particular it has universality number exactly κ+. Such trees are then used to develop a descriptive set theory of the space cf(κ)κ. The main result of the paper gives in the case of κ strong limit singular an exact connection between the descriptive set-theoretic complexity of the chain isomorphism orbit of a model, the reduction order on the trees and winning strategies in the corresponding dynamic EF games. In particular we obtain a neat analogue of the notion of Scott watershed from the Scott analysis of countable models.

Existence of EF-equivalent non-isomorphic models

We prove the existence of pairs of models of the same cardinality λ which are very equivalent according to EF games, but not isomorphic. We continue the paper [4], but we don’t rely on it.

Dynamic Competitive Supply Chain Network Design with Price Dependent Demand and Huff Utility Function

This paper develops a two-stage model to consider a franchise/franchisee environment in which supply chains are simultaneously entering the untapped market to produce either identical or highly substitutable products and give franchise to franchisees. Customer demand is elastic, price dependent and customer utility function is based on Huff gravity rule model. The supply chains, in the first st...

Almost free groups and Ehrenfeucht-Fräıssé games for successors of singular cardinals

We strengthen non-structure theorems for almost free Abelian groups by studying long Ehrenfeucht-Fräıssé games between a fixed group of cardinality λ and a free Abelian group. A group is called ǫ-game-free if the isomorphism player has a winning strategy in the game (of the described form) of length ǫ ∈ λ. We prove for a large set of successor cardinals λ = μ the existence of nonfree (μ · ω1)-g...

Improved Profitability and Competition in Two Level Supply Chain by Non-Cooperative Games

This article by modeling a non-cooperative dynamic game tries to improve profitability and competition. This paper has considered how the manufacturer interacts with multiple competitor distributors. Each distributor also determines the optimal distribution price and inventory replenishment policies to maximize their profits. The issue form a non-cooperative dynamic game. Distributors formulate...

Change Point Estimation of the Stationary State in Auto Regressive Moving Average Models, Using Maximum Likelihood Estimation and Singular Value Decomposition-based Filtering

In this paper, for the first time, the subject of change point estimation has been utilized in the stationary state of auto regressive moving average (ARMA) (1, 1). In the monitoring phase, in case the features of the question pursue a time series, i.e., ARMA(1,1), on the basis of the maximum likelihood technique, an approach will be developed for the estimation of the stationary state’s change...
