Anisotropic thermo-elasticity in 2D. Part I: A unified treatment

چکیده
In this note we develop tools and techniques for the treatment of anisotropic thermo-elasticity in two space dimensions. We use a diagonalisation technique to obtain properties of the characteristic roots of the full symbol of the system in order to prove L–L decay rates for its solutions.

Anisotropic thermo-elasticity in 2D. Part II: Applications
This note deals with concrete applications of the general treatment of anisotropic thermo-elasticity developed in the first part [M. Reissig, J. Wirth, Anisotropic thermo-elasticity in 2D A unified treatment, Asympt. Anal. ?? (????) ??–??]. We give dispersive decay rates for solutions to the type-1 system of thermo-elasticity for certain types of anisotropic media. 1. Elastic operators and ther...
متن کاملThermo-elasticity for anisotropic media in higher dimensions
In this note we develop tools to study the Cauchy problem for the system of thermo-elasticity in higher dimensions. The theory is developed for general homogeneous anisotropic media under non-degeneracy conditions. For degenerate cases a method of treatment is sketched and for the cases of cubic media and hexagonal media detailed studies are provided.
متن کاملGeneral Theory of Coupled Thermally Stable Anisotropic Laminates
A general theory of thermally stable anisotropic laminates with bending-extension coupling is presented in the framework of linear thermo-elasticity. It is based upon the use of tensor invariants, found by the polar formalism for bi-dimensional anisotropic elasticity. The extension of the results to moisture absorption effects is also proved.
متن کاملExtraction of Nonlinear Thermo-Electroelastic Equations for High Frequency Vibrations of Piezoelectric Resonators with Initial Static Biases
In this paper, the general case of an anisotropic thermo-electro elastic body subjected to static biasing fields is considered. The biasing fields may be introduced by heat flux, body forces, external surface tractions, and electric fields. By introducing proper thermodynamic functions and employing variational principle for a thermo-electro elastic body, the nonlinear constitutive relations an...
متن کاملAnisotropic Media in 2d and Their Thermo-elastic Properties
contains the elasticity modules of the medium. Usually one makes the assumption that S is positive definite such that A(D) is a positive and self-adjoint operator. Then the first equation is hyperbolic, while the second one is parabolic. In [2] the thermo-elastic system is considered and dispersive estimates are proven under the assumptions that (A1-2) A(ξ) is positive (self-adjoint, 2-homogene...
