This article, therefore, provides a brief description of the scale, as well as an assessment of its effectiveness. Perhaps most important, the article analyzes the potential impact of this scale on both offender assessment and treatment. Offender attitudes and treatment Although there have been several comprehensive reviews of the general factors that influence psychotherapy outcomes,(4) few studies have attempted to predict offender response to treatment. Clearly, correctional treatment settings differ from other treatment environments and offenders differ from other treatment clients.
