Eliciting Patients' Revealed Preferences: An Inverse Markov Decision Process Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
E patient preferences over various health states is an important problem in health care decision modeling. Direct approaches, which involve asking patients various abstract questions, have significant drawbacks. We propose a new approach that infers patient preferences based on observed decisions via inverse optimization techniques. We illustrate our methods on the timing of a living-donor liver transplant.

An Entropy Approach for Utility Assignment in Decision Analysis
A fundamental step in decision analysis is the elicitation of the decision-maker's preferences about the prospects of a decision situation in the form of utility values. However, this can be a difficult task to perform in practice as the number of prospects may be large, and eliciting a utility value for each prospect may be a time consuming and stressful task for the decision maker. To relieve...
متن کاملReasoning with Partial Preference Models PhD Dissertation Proposal
Classical decision theory provides a normative framework for representing and reasoning with complex preferences. Straightforward application of this theory to automate decision making is difficult due to high cost of eliciting preferences. The objective of this thesis is to develop a flexible decision-theoretic framework for eliciting and reasoning with preferences and to apply the tools and t...
متن کاملThe Route Not Taken: Driver-Centric Prediction of Electric Vehicle Range
This paper addresses the challenge of efficiently and accurately predicting an electric vehicle’s attainable range. Specifically, our approach accounts for a driver’s generalised route preferences to provide up-to-date, personalised information based on estimates of the energy required to reach every possible destination in a map. We frame this task in the context of sequential decision making ...

متن کاملMulti-robot inverse reinforcement learning under occlusion with interactions
We consider the problem of learning the behavior of multiple mobile robots executing fixed trajectories in a common space and possibly interacting with each other in their execution. The mobile robots are observed by a subject robot from a vantage point from which it can observe a portion of their trajectories only. This problem exhibits wide-ranging applications and the specific application we...
