چکیده

Dynamically composed systems are able to incorporate new components as they execute. Therefore, conngurations of these systems are not fully elaborated until at least the time that they are executed, and they are perhaps never fully elaborated. Such incomplete conngurations are termed partially bound conngurations. Although partially bound, it is still important to be able to analyse these conngurations to ascertain whether they meet certain assumptions about their composition. We are endeavouring to provide such support for the construction of dynamically composed systems through the application of connguration management concepts. One way in which these concepts can be applied in this domain is to explicitly state such assumptions and hence be able to validate partially bound conngurations against these assumptions; in this way, inconsistencies can be reported as soon as they arise. This paper discusses the issues involved in providing this kind of consistency mechanism for dynamically composed systems.

Consistency Issues in Partially Bound Dynamically Composed Systems

Robust Multi-Stage Decision Making

Testifying to more than ten years of academic and practical developments, this tutorial attempts to provide a succinct yet unified view of the robust multi-stage decision making framework. In particular, the reader should better understand: (1) the distinction between static versus fully or partially adjustable decisions; (2) the root of tractability issues; (3) the connection to robust dynamic...

Kernel Ridge Estimator for the Partially Linear Model under Right-Censored Data

Objective: This paper aims to introduce a modified kernel-type ridge estimator for partially linear models under randomly-right censored data. Such models include two main issues that need to be solved: multi-collinearity and censorship. To address these issues, we improved the kernel estimator based on synthetic data transformation and kNN imputation techniques. The key idea of this paper is t...

Consistency Checking of Natural Language Temporal Requirements using Answer-Set Programming

OF DISSERTATION Consistency Checking of Natural Language Temporal Requirements using Answer-Set Programming Successful software engineering practice requires high quality requirements. Inconsistency is one of the main requirement issues that may prevent software projects from being success. This is particularly onerous when the requirements concern temporal constraints. Manual checking whether ...

Decision with Dempster-Shafer belief functions: Decision under ignorance and sequential consistency

This paper examines proposals for decision making with Dempster-Shafer belief functions from the perspectives of requirements for decision under ignorance and sequential consistency. The focus is on the proposals by Jaffray & Wakker and Giang & Shenoy applied for partially consonant belief functions. We formalize the concept of sequential consistency of an evaluation model and prove results abo...
